I also loved both Cabin At the End of the World and A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay, My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix (and I'm really loving his new one, Witchcraft For Wayward Girls). Eric LaRocca can be good, but very weird. Hmmm... Oh! The Reformatory by Tananarive Due, it's chonky but it's SO good (but it is about a young black boy who gets sent to a reformatory school during 1950s Jim Crow Florida so it's pretty heavy). 💀

I don't read a lot of horror stuff. When I do read books it's mostly non-fiction, technical stuff like TTRPG rulebooks or art books. Some of these sound interesting but I dunno that I'd be able to sit through them. Also I'm not a fan of Stephen King, what I have read of his stuff feels...overrated? Aside from that, I really do love the travel stuff you put in. I wish I could travel more, it's so boring sitting around the house. Were you filming the earlier commentary on your phone, I feel like that the lighting was off from all the sunlight pouring in but I don't think that's something you can fix on a phone. If you can fix it, I don't know how. Also I really love those crochet pets, so cute! 💀

Frankenstein was a definitely an asshole, but he was also batshit insane. Which I think is pretty central to the character. You're not supposed to like him and with good reason. Conversely one definitely can feel for the creature, being feared by everyone and not knowing who he is. I'm curious now to see what you would think of the comedy film "Young Frankenstein" which is a more lighthearted take on the story.
