Frankenstein was a definitely an asshole, but he was also batshit insane. Which I think is pretty central to the character. You're not supposed to like him and with good reason. Conversely one definitely can feel for the creature, being feared by everyone and not knowing who he is. I'm curious now to see what you would think of the comedy film "Young Frankenstein" which is a more lighthearted take on the story.

Loved hearing your thoughts on Frankenstein! I started reading it in high school for a literature class and loved it, but never finished it. I’m planning on reading it for Halloween.
