I just got back in to Pokemon and have pulled some crazy cards! And I'm nervous to send them cuz people are complaining that they are coming back damaged and I just don't want that to happen

I do a bit of everything as well. I'm a Top Rated seller on eBay so that helps a ton with fees and profit. I only grade cards that I personally want to hold. Also keeps me from caring about the grade since I just want to protect and authenticate it first and foremost. I don't have super influencer PSA benefits to get card turnarounds of less than a month so it isn't worth it for me to send a card in to flip since I won't get it back for 2+ months. I mean, it could go up but also could go down in that time. Big gamble. I don't really like the more gambly part of the hobby.

Great video! Back when I got into the hobby 5 years ago it was collectors vs investors. Nowadays it feels like investing is a bit more normalized. However what I will say is that there is a lot of dumb, lazy, and honestly unqualified investment content out there. FOMO being driven on a bunch of theoreticals. Not everything goes up. Not all sealed is liquid. Holding product doesn't equate to profit. These are things people don't like hearing.

I think there's pros and cons to the "investor bros". On one hand, they are buying all of the good sets, which sends proper signals to the Pokemon Company to print good sets like the ones that do well. On the other hand, you have morons punching other guys at Costco for 151 mini tins. I will say, at least the "investor bros" are keeping the IP alive, because my favorite card game will always be Yu-Gi-Oh but Konami does none of the things to get the "investor bros" on board and the card game seems to suffer as a result. There's not much reason to hold a modern Yu-Gi-Oh set because it will never be worth more in the future due to a lack of alt-arts and specialty rarities, plus the power creep in the game mechanics.

It's fun investing on things you love, but it's getting tough when scalper is making it tough to just get the product at msrp. Most of us average folks don't have connection to get what we want.

I can see your point but to me it's a double edged sword. It does what you stated but it also makes product harder to obtain. Makes product more expensive if you resort to the secondary market. Brings a lot of unsavory characters into the space. In a perfect world, I can see an investor bro getting into it for money then ripping some packs and falling in love with it but in reality, I think we're just seeing a lot of characters who are blinded by dollar signs and they'll dip out as soon as that aspect fades.

I have given up on MTG, which I've been playing for about 15 to 20 years now. Bloomburrow just not available, and universe beyond just killed mtg for me. But my son is turning 5 and as such I've started to get back into table top casual pokemon. So its good to know Pokémon isn't having wizards current issues.

Why Evolving skies BB still costs 1,000$ then? I know what you mean but even with reprint we dont get good prices. Reprint matters only when every physical and online shop have the items available. Europe is a shithole when it comes to shipping, taxes, prices and accessibility and here prices are too high even with reprints.

Wish what you are saying is true, but look at 151 EN - we all expected a crazy reprint by now and prices to come down, never happened. Prices are sky high while demand is still crazy. Same could unfortunately potentially happen with Prismatic Evolution.
