Along the Way | Continental Divide Trail Documentary | Full Film
One step at a time, thats what they say. But it's really not that simple. That would be leaving out all the highs and lows, the joy and laughter, all the struggle and hardships that make you a stronger person. There's more to it than mere effort and the steps you take along the way.
See all the aspects of hiking the Continental Divide Trail, from New Mexico's barren deserts, Colorado's high peaks, Wyoming's diverse landscapes, and Montana's rugged forests. Enjoy all the unique moments of friendship, determination, and sore feet during my 2023 thru-hike of the CDT.
Hope you enjoy and happy trails!

I have decide to continue my thru-hiking escapades by hiking the 3000 mile Continental Divide Trail which goes through the US states of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana (and small part of Idaho). I am joined by some PCT trail family members as well. I will do my best to keep you all updated as I go and if all goes well you can expect another film once I finish! IG: austin.seder Happy ...

I'm 55 and I'm a bit sad that I didn't do this trail when I was 25, 35, 45, or hell .... last year. Why didn't I know when I was younger how much I would long to do these trails? All I knew about was the AT. I don't think it's too late though. I cycled a 2,000 mile chunk of the TransAm route last year. Maybe I should just pick a section of the CDT and go for it. Wyoming?

In general well done and impressive sceneries captured. Nevertheless on "Along the Way" you have improved a lot in terms of film making. This "doc" contains too many stick shots and blah blah. Never mind. Unfortunately I am not able to walk those trails, so THANKS for your coverage. Besides although superlatives often suck 'CDT' would be my favourite "route".

When I tell people about thru-hiking, those who have no experience with it always ask, was it fun? The correct answer is NO. It is challenging, at times boring, often exciting. You will be hungry, tired, thirsty, elated and drepssed. There will be fun times, but the overall experience can not be described as fun.

I guess I could say that about life but I would be wrong. I was a baby my father burnt 85% of my body by throwing a pot of beans on me. I’ve been shot twice stabbed twice. Was in a mortar explosion and got shrapnel all down my right side. I’ve died three times on the op table. I’ve never had a real family cause I was an orphan. So that doesn’t sound like a very good life now does it. Yet, I have had fun. To me after everything I been through, thru hikes are just a walk in the park to me compared too….

I think if you fall into the eat sleep hike routine you are doing it for the wrong reasons! You are probably doing just to say you went from point A to B or so you can say you hiked a certain named trail. To many are either looking into a camera or looking down instead of looking at everything around you that most people will never experience! You really have to be about the outdoors and the lifestyle of living off the land in order to enjoy these huge hikes from start to finish!

WOW, what a film! This is absolutely NOT the first CDT film I've watched but this one hit different. Your clever and insightful narration along with stunning videography were beyond entertaining. Your journey seemed both challenging and enjoyable. Although I don't aspire to complete this trail I'd love to see parts of it someday. Thanks for bringing the beauty to screen!
