I am a former high school auto shop teacher, and weekend maker. Myself along with my wife and 16-year-old son decided to live the nomadic lifestyle. We sold our house, bought a bus, and are in the process of converting the bus into a home while trying to live on it at the same time.

A Day with Andy and a Long-Awaited Repair
How many fire rings in total were done when you were out there? Connor is a good worker.
Connor worked his ass off for me. We replaced 41 fire rings.
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Loved the video. Loved the back and forth of each of your lives. Also enjoyed the music. The words to the song were so appropriate. Looking forward to your next one. 😍
@@larrykavanagh562 Thanks! I loved how Nancy edited the back and fourth too!
Rub some wax on the edge to keep from burning it
Andy..wear the face shield! Loved the tour from Connor. Good job Connor! The two of you made good use of every space in the van. Looking forward to your videos from Colorado.
But scars are cool 😎 😂 The use of space worked well. Stay tuned for the Colorado videos.
Informative/well explained. Thanks
Nancy, you have a nice looking garden. Andy you need to wear a respirator. Lots of sawdust on your beard. Glad Connor wears one. Glad you are enjoying the Black & Decker Workmate benches. 😀
Should have placed a support in the middle on the floor foundation
After creating such a sweet pattern on top, why would you cover it with a turntable. Hidden and overheated. Hmmmm?
Looking good. Waiting to see it finished.
@@larrykavanagh562 thanks
Just an old fashioned christmas tree foot, isn't it?
You have a lot of patience Andy!!!
@@ericjenschneider3902 it's come with age.
You two make a great team!!
Thanks
We got along quite well in Colorado too, especially with living in such a small space for 2 months.
I miss all of that building! Alicia and I are putting a super basic deck in the front yard, so it scratches some of the itch. Good memories in that van 🤣!
Good luck!
Looking forward to seeing the finished camper van. Glad to see Connor wearing the respirator.
He didn't learn how to wear the respirator by watching me but it's most likely a good idea to wear it.
How do you replace the parking brake on a 2026 town.and country van
@@bettyrichardson9955 2026?
Glad the transmission worked. Looking forward to the next video
@@larrykavanagh562 me too!
Going waaaay to fast. Damn! What's the rush? Not a great instructor. I know how to do pads and rotors but the squeal tab confuses me and I swear to God you went 1000 mph and showed it for -literally- a split second and very shaky too cause your in such a damn hurry. Ridiculous. Was there an active shooter in there or something?
The kitties are like little lions!! Nice job Nan….you wear so many hats!!!
The first tranny I did I was 16 years old. Got it almost there and the jack slipped. That Turbo 450 broke four ribs; two on each side.
Nancy, you are a very good helper and future auto mechanic. The two of you work well together. Glad you are able to make good use of the jack.
@@larrykavanagh562 I couldn't have done it without Nancy or the jack.
Thanks again for the jack!
That is a dirty job. Did the shirt come clean? Silver was curious as to what you were doing.
@@larrykavanagh562 yes it was, and no the shirt did not come clean. Silver is always curious as to what we are doing when we are outside.
Glad you like the floor jack. Dad
@@larrykavanagh562 it works great! Thanks again 😁
Daaaaaammmmnnnn! At the very least, use 2x3s for wall framing and 2x4s for rafters! I am happy you didn't fall through the roof, but dude really? I hope your shed lasts for years to come.
Love your gardens 🥰🥰🥰
Go NAN!!!
Wow, that's quite a project.....I am planning a build on a Prevost, but am having a hard time finding insurance. Who do you have your bus insurance with? ive learned this is quite a problem for the self converters! THANKS
Hi Nancy and Andy❤
Hello 😄
I think you should have killed the black widow spider and her family.
Love your dress in the first part of the video 😊 you are such an amazing gardener! P.S. those ants 🐜😱
Looking forward to seeing the garden as it starts producing vegetables and flowers. LOL on the hex on the lawnmowers.
Like the way you constructed the plant boxes with the barrels and the wooden frame. Looking forward to seeing the greenhouse.
Looking forward to seeing the final produce. 🙂
I can't eat all the cucumbers and tomatoes that I've harvested so far😅
Now, LEGO, you are public and we will send a leftist message
Did the long sleeves work? Yay for great measuring on the screen.
@@larrykavanagh562 yes they worked.
Your cats are sure lovable. Why did you place the rocks in the planting containers? The blue watering can you gave us when you left town is really nice. Bet you wish you had it back. Where did you get it? Would like to get another one for the neighbor who also really likes it.
I used the rocks so I would know where everything was planted before it popped up. It took me a minute to remember the blue watering can, lol. They used the same ones at Riverside and Reit told me where to get it, but I don't remember now where that was.
I've got a 2007 Chrysler town & country touring. On a cold start & short run I have no noise, but if it's a hot day or I drive 20-30 miles I start to hear the classic whining sounds of a power steering pump. What I'm afraid of is,this same sound was what I heard when the front pump went out in the transmission of my Pontiac grand am. With the not so great history of these transmissions,I'm scared. I'm gonna flush the PS pump & cross my fingers that this is the issue.
@@DaddyMo444 both are vane pumps so making the same noise makes sense. If the noise changes as you turn the wheel it's most likely the power steering fluid and or pump. Good luck!
Looked like a tough job. Good thing you have a wife that gives good back rubs. 🙂
@@larrykavanagh562 it was way harder than it was supposed to be...but easier and cheaper than a transmission replacement.
Waiting to see the produce in the garden.
I have some squash, and a couple of watermelon growing nicely, and I've started picking tomatoes! I also have a cayenne starting to turn red. I guess two solid weeks of 90 degree weather is good for something, LOL.
Nancy, just think of poison ivy as grease, invisible grease, that's what it is. You simply use soap on a wash cloth and thoroughly wash your hands, then around between the fingers, every square inch, and up to the elbows, etc. One has up to 2 hours to wash the grease off before it is too late. If you suspect it is on you, stop and go wash. In Greenville we had poison ivy everywhere and after watching a Doctor who was allergic to poison ivy explain how to wash and that it is grease and should be washed the way one would clean grease from their hands and in-between the fingers etc., I began washing that way and never had anymore trouble with it. The Doctor I'm referring to would work in poison ivy for an hour or two then go shower and clean the grease off. Most people do not know poison ivy fluid is grease.
Fels Naptha bar soap works great for washing off the oil from poison ivy. You did a great job on cutting the barrel in half and the coffee looked delicious. Enjoyed the cats...knew what Cameron was doing in the dirt before Andy commented on it. lol.
Thanks for the heads up on the Fels Naptha! The local co-op had a poison ivy soap made with jewelweed and tallow, and it seems to work, but I know Fels Naptha is cheaper than the tallow soap, and available at every walmart or grocery store I've been to down here!
😻
Sell I give jou my adres 😂
Glad you got the job done safely. Loved the cats.
Thanks! Me too!
I just ordered a heartland shed, with the dimensions of 4’ x 10’. Looks similar to the shed you have built. Maybe I can make this into my personal space. A small man cave. Insulated and all lit inside.
Good job on the liter box. Hope Cameron and Silver are making good use of it. How are the plants doing? Looking forward to your next video.
They made great use of it for the first week! Now they only use it when they are trapped inside during rainy days 😅 The plants are LOVING the heat and sun and rain! Unfortunately, the aphids love the plants and I need to make some spray and go out hunting tomorrow. I also planted catnip and lemon balm and have them sitting in a cupboard in jars of vodka - tomorrow I think I'll be making my mosquito spray, because they also love the rain we've had!
Lots of trees. Glad you know what you are doing when cutting down all those trees. Nancy, good job using the saw. Love you two.
Thanks! RUclips University has taught me a lot. Love you too 💖
Great video! Very informative. Took much of the fear factor out of the job. I'm not even going to get bids on it. Last bid I got was a gas water heater install. Guy wanted $2700 to do it. I bought a new one for $600 bucks. Installed myself. Saved a couple thousand dollars. There's no telling wat a contractor would charge for this job??? Thanks
Lots of work.
Fun to watch some of your older videos. Can't believe this one is from 9 years ago.
Nancy and I just re-watched this one a couple of weeks ago. It was a fun trip down memory lane.
