Absolutely loved this presentation. It's photographic evidence why permaculture, no till and regenerative agriculture works.

Excellent talk with information that pieces things together. Another factor that effects yield is how long the plant lives during the seed fill period. As an example the kernel fills period for corn is 60 days. Basically the first 30 days the kernel fills with starch and sugar. The final 30 days the plant fills with protein, micronutrients and additional yield. If the corn plant is infected with Goss's Wilt Disease the plant will die early during that 60 day period. This effects protein and minerals absorbed by corn kernel. Plus, yield, fruit quality, days to rotting after picking and corn kernel dry down moisture content in the speed at which the corn drys down in the field. If a corn plant is not somewhat green when you harvest it for shell corn it died prematurely. Microbes can prevent the premature death of a corn plant if you foliar apply the right species. Cattle gain faster on healthy feed. There is less need to supplement the ration with minerals. Animals are healthier and need less medicine. Jay.johnson@nextlevelfarmer.com Seller of Microbes.

Check the salt level in soil. Check compaction. Check herbicide and insecticide soil residual levels. Check food levels in soil for microbes like humic. Check protazowa levels in soil. Check carbon levels in soil. Check oxygen levels in soil. Check for higher life forms than microbes in the soil. Check organic matter. Check micronutrient levels in the soil. Study what feeds, houses, protects and kills microbes.

Greg Patterson, there are 4 herbicides that kill microbes in the soil. Roundup is one of them. You can Google Search the other three. Insecticides and their residuals kill microbes. I would imagine NH4 does too. It sucks the water out of farmers eyes and I would think it would suck water out of microbes. Protozoa kill microbes. Soil without growing roots take away a microbes food source. For your Sap Quality Analysis is that the same as Nova Crop Control Labs in the Netherlands? It's totally amazing how plants grow! Makes us realize again how little we know about creation, when we keep discovering more "rabbit holes" like this.

Very interesting that Hiltner in 1903 already understood that the plant "farms" the microbes that it needs! So I understand from this presentation we don't necessarily need or want all the bacteria and fungi; we want the ones that are most beneficial to our crop. Also, it was an eye-opener to see that all soils worldwide have the same basic suite of microbes in their rhizosphere. Makes sense, since plants are adjusting the soil life to their needs.
