Obviously not finished yet. A vast improvement on what was there before, but it could be wider (Roe Green Loopline is hell on a busy day), and the surface is still quite bumpy.

This cycleway now has bollards along it, to prevent motorists illegally parking their cars there. Except for one van, tonight it was completely clear of cars.

Two angles, both from the south side of the bridge looking north. Both footways and much of the road is pitch black due to trees blocking the streetlights. A correctly-lit portion of street is visible in the second half, in the distance.

Buzzing around the Peaks from Sheffield towards Manchester

A sadly typical scene outside the crematorium on Whitehouse Lane. Cars abandoned everywhere, blocking the road for everyone. No pavement for pedestrians either. The crematorium car park was full.

This is the very poor diversion route across the A57 while the road is widened (the council don't have enough ambition to build any protected cycleways while they widen it) and the bridge replaced. Clearly nobody has surveyed this route because it has numerous problems - narrow, muddy trails that will be savage at night, kerbs that cannot be traversed by disabled folk, tunnels that are so low y...

While there may be some minor improvements for pedestrians, this design clearly does not work. Motorists are cutting straight across the centre (which is supposed to be there for large vehicles only). It is extremely confusing and I suspect it won't be long before we see the first serious collision here.

A distance of 70 metres should not take this long to cross. It's quicker to drive up the road and do a U-turn!

This is how long it takes to cross between two points about 50m apart. It used to be a lot quicker before the junction's subway system was mostly removed - for the benefit of motorists.
