Snow Leopard Trail | Snow Leopard Day 2024
🌍🐾 Happy Snow Leopard Day 2024! 🐾🌍
Today, we celebrate the magnificent Snow Leopard, a symbol of strength and resilience, roaming the high mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. Known as the "Ghost of the Mountain," this elusive big cat is an essential part of its ecosystem, playing a crucial role in maintaining a balanced environment.
To mark the occasion we're delighted to present a sneak preview of Friend of Festival, Dr Jonny Hanson's upcoming documentary Snow Leopard Trail about snow leopard conservation in western Nepal. It asks what the future holds for the Himalaya, their people and their most iconic species?

Could an epic battle between this predator and its prey ever have happened in Jurassic Ireland? 🇮🇪
The spotted hyena was in Ireland too and went extinct
Many years aback we told each other. hot then immediate Cold shower is Good for verillity. I think it Did cut down the energy bill. at least. cheers
Not everthing goes easy. After a storm surf my NEW GOGGLES were owned by a BLUE GROPER. I suspect. A hooded towel is a VERY good Idea. I sugest
After my first ocean swim I was gratefull to hear a 5 year swimmer say how Wobbly he was after His first swim. These lovely people Care about You. I was a BASKET CASE. I was 73 years Young. Thats in Australia. warmer than U K.winters. Stay Young my friends. SWIM
Don't see it happening.I was in switzerland recently where they reintroduced liynx but as the main livestock is cattle rather than sheep there is much less conflict with farmers
Should I buy the book after watched this video ? Anybody know if I can learn or understand different things about this theme in the book that Seth doesn't explained in this video ?
Good Video but just a few points. Breathing in Water is Aspiration not Inspiration as Stated. Cold Water Immersion and Swimming Therapy has been known about for decades or centuries. people swimming should be aware of the risks though. If people find a benefit to themselves, that is sufficient.
My great grandfather was a beetler.
Congratulations Aaron!
These hallucinations mechanism of the brain approach of making sense of the world is actually remarkable, but with what mechanism are we able to sit down and reason out this process. Like sitting down listening to people like Anil Seth explain how the brain perceives the world around it should take a different process from that of hallucination mechanism. So this other attribute where does it come from, is it still another properties of the brain and mind or what.
From my perspective, human consciousness is outside the human person not inside, and it's in the form of field like all other fields like quantum fields or electromagnetic field. Human brain is a highly organized system that finds a way to steadily interact with this conscious field and lights up the human person. Any system or structure that becomes complex enough will also interact with this conscious field (hence conscious being). This why we should be careful the way we propagate our electric technology.
Swimming naked releases me...
We are still in the material age. Consciousness being created by the physical brain is the equivalent of the electricity that emits light being created by the lamp.
Thank you. ❤
Being You: A Science of Consciousness Anil Seth Anil Seth's radical new theory of consciousness challenges our understanding of perception and reality, doing for brain science what Dawkins did for evolutionary biology. Consciousness is the great unsolved mystery in our scientific understanding of the brain. Somewhere, somehow, inscribed in the brain is everything that makes you you. But how do we grasp what happens in the brain to turn mere electrical impulses into the vast range of perceptions, thoughts and emotions we feel from moment to moment? Anil Seth, one of Britain's leading neuroscientists, charts the developments in our understanding of consciousness, revealing radical interdisciplinary breakthroughs that must transform the way we think about the self. Drawing on his original research and collaborations with cognitive scientists, neuroscientists, psychiatrists, brain imagers, virtual reality wizards, mathematicians and philosophers, he puts forward an exhilarating new theory about how we experience the world that should encourage us to view ourselves as less apart from and more a part of the rest of nature. Seth's revolutionary framework for consciousness will turn what you thought you knew about yourself on its head.

존나좋아 진짜 ㅜ
I have been swiming many many years in cold water (14 - 16 C). The main thing for this practicing is get used to cold. It takes at least 3 days gradualy increasing time of stay in the beging of swing season after ice on the lakes melts. First time it is enough to stay in cold water for 1 minute. The next time after several hours cold shock will be lesser and you can stay for 4 minutes and try swim. The main thing keeping track how your head is reacting to cold. Is it acking? You have to avoid it by increasing time in cold water gradually. I am always listening my body responces and not making anything which makes me feel bad. Thats why better cold water swiming is autumn (not spring). It much more easy extend summer swiming into next season. Enjoy swiming!
p.s. I am 58 and started swing open water at 23. Back then wet suits where not existing in my country.
Is there a rule like no alcohol consumption on site? I feel like alcohol could ruin this
Old guys and young guys. We could learn from you guys
Maybe next year you can show better example but ditching the single use plastic bottles, you have provided for every one of these interviews!
Dr. Seth, I am sorry, but I think the brain knows more than we would believe it to know. Your lecture is very interesting.
So great you could swim during lockdown. The NZ navy forced everyone out at our beach.
The Dreamachine sounds like an incredible experience and wondered if there was an intention to offer it again or to offer it in a commercial experiential setting.
Anil Seth is the man.no woo woo. Just science
Love this lecture! I share it all the time. This is a new science for improving the world especially medicine, inner perception regulate health.😊
That was a really useful insight for beginners to this pastime. Thanks!
I imagine anything that shows health benefits will be suppressed by the massive influence of big pharma, they wont want people off their meds so the risks will always be amplified and the benefits played down by the studies.
I'm both amused and terrified
Very interesting! I never knew of the beetling process. Thanks for the info!
the fountain of youth.
Brillaint watch!
We are still in Plato’s Cave - but research is to be encouraged
of course, how else have we been evolving. we get caught up in local time, but another million years of this and we wont even remember a cave. well definitely have new factors telling us how hopeless our efforts are hehe, and thank god for that.
Are you sure about that? we have actual Alien sighting footages now
... brought to you via a screen...? 🙏🏽 🌳🕊💚
Thank you for this informative video! It’s great to know what is happening exactly
Dr , you looking in the wrong place , you need to take a trip to a well known place here as the leadmines or now known as whitespots country park . its plasterd in dino footprints . i found footprints of the sarcosruaus by the thousand , but no one wants to spend the time to come see them .
So interesting. I wish I could ask Anil Seth questions, for example: icw the checkerboard, when you (I) look through your (my) eyelashes, you see that the two squares are the same colour. I always thought that we see the colour as different because of the effect of the white colour around the square, and vice versa with the other square. This effect is gone when you look through your eyelashes (the squares look the same). I paint, and this is what fine-painters do when observing reality to paint it. The fact that we see the square as darker does not have anything to do with the thought that it is in shadow, so it is not an anticipatory effect of the brain. Or do you mean that the brain (eye-mechanism) is hard-wired for this effect simply because of the darker colour around the white square and vice versa? I still do not see a direct connection with the "shadow"-thought, which I think is what you are putting your emphasis on. ??
what about the million or so light funnels catching protons in our eye. they arent even synchronized...ridiculous
I consider myself an open water swimmer and I would never go in Puget Sound (10 C) without a wetsuit. I know a lot of people that do, and they swear by it. No gracias para mi. I think a distinction can be made between open water swimming and cold water swimming.
Very insightful and interesting interview.
Just found Wendy Mitchell. Recently diagnosed. Inspirational.🎉
When you push you are most open minded your actually the most closed minded. This is what you are Kleeman
A better scientific and more cutting edge up to date non fear based research can be seen by Wim Hof. Check him out.

The sun's tide-generating force is about half that of the moon. One half times one third is one sixth. Consider what is water. The density of what is the Sun is believed to be about one quarter of that of what is THE EARTH. The diameter of WHAT IS THE MOON is about one quarter of that of what is THE EARTH. The density of the human body is about the same as water. Lava is about three times as dense as water. Pure water is about half as dense as packed sand/wet packed sand. We can multiply one fourth times two thirds in order to ALSO get the surface gravity on the Moon in comparison with what is THE EARTH/ground. The gravity of the Sun upon the Moon is about TWICE that of what is THE EARTH. The lunar crust is about TWICE as thick on the far side of what is the Moon. Notice what is the TRANSLUCENT AND BLUE sky ON BALANCE. The maria (lunar “seas”) do occupy ONE THIRD of the visible near side of what is the Moon. One half times one third is one sixth. What is E=MC2 is taken directly from F=ma, AS TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual ON/IN BALANCE; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is CLEARLY AND NECESSARILY proven to be gravity (ON/IN BALANCE); AS the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches the revolution. Consider what is the orange AND setting Sun ON BALANCE. Consider what is THE EYE ON BALANCE. Consider what is the fully illuminated AND setting/WHITE MOON ON BALANCE. What is E=MC2 is dimensionally consistent. The land surface area of what is THE EARTH is 29 percent. This is EXACTLY between (ON BALANCE) what is one third AND what is one fourth. The maria occupy one sixth of what is the Moon. The BULK DENSITY of what is the Moon is comparable to that of (volcanic) basaltic lavas on what is THE EARTH/ground. Consider what are the tides. ONE HALF times one third is one sixth. ONE QUARTER times two thirds is one sixth. What is gravity is, ON BALANCE, an INTERACTION that cannot be shielded or blocked. CLEAR water comes from what is THE EYE (ON BALANCE). GREAT. BALANCE AND completeness go hand in hand. By Frank Martin DiMeglio
A belated, grateful thank you for a great book. Throughly enjoyed it, well written.
This series is beautifully produced! Thanks for sharing it with the world!
Excellent video! Extremely informative, and helpful.
