MiG looks good tho, def could fool a newbie
Thank you brother. I just bought one.
Enjoy brother!
How bad would it be to not preheat?
Inconsistent weld. Cold starts. Lack of penetration
How much that job paid in usa Caus a do this job in France for 2000 dollars
Im not in the u.s.a im in aruba and im not sure for the price.
Don't buy their lens, get randnor or Lincoln
I have it as a backup now my main lens is a tefuave
Great tutorial. I just bought the Samurai. I wanted to know how to install the auto darkening. Ty
You are welcome!
My father passed away a few months ago. He had a workshop and welded aluminum. I focused on other things and didn't go to his workshop. Now I need him to be able to repair some things... I found in your video many of the things my father taught me but I had forgotten, thank you so much
Im sorry to hear that. Glad to help brother!
Awesome video!
Thanks brother
I always carry one on my welding rig
Some people have all the fun at work nice looking welds bro keep the videos coming
Hahah all the fun and hard work. Thanks brother!
Good video, I just bought some of these 4043 rods but havent used them yet. Good info thank you
Ur welcome bud! Give them a try.
Are you flate rate or were you getting paid hourly
Flat rate
It's easy if you are prepared.
buy a new one and keep the repaired one as a spare
New one takes 3-4 weeks. I fixed it in a couple of hours. Downtime is expensive.
@@aweldersjourney is there only 1 of that vehicle type on site?
@@jeremymaduro4892 i think a pair. Ive already told them to get a tank to put in stock. Hopefully they listen
A friend just gave me a 115v/70amp stick welder and I need to weld the back on a broken automatic transmission. Was quite happy till you said it needs high amperage. I thought aluminum would be lower amperage.🤔 Anyway, not gonna work? Thanks for any advice. Getting desperate to get my beasty back on the road.
You can try it if you got a thin enough rod like a 1/16 and you heat the aluminuim you can try it. Why not. Its already broken cant be more broken after ur done.
Not convinced I can't make it more broken.😆 I'll give it a shot though. Thanks much!👊
One more thing, if you don't mind. I'm about ready to ebay some rods. Any recommendations? Is one as good as another as long as it's 1/16? I saw one with silicon that's supposed to be less spattery?
The only ones i can find are these “Aluminum E4043 Stick Electrode Rod 3/32” Remember E4043 is the rod you need. I cant find any 1/16 rods only for TIG. Get the E4043 3/32 one and try it but i doubt its gonna have enough power to burn it.
@@aweldersjourneyI bought some on ebay earlier. Here's how they had it listed: ER4043 1-lb 1/16" x 16" Aluminum Welding Rod - TIG Filler Rod, TIG Rod. I watched a few other videos and hopefully I'm right that these can be used for welding with my 70A/115V or with a tig or even a torch alone. Dunno much and it's a bit confusing for a newby. I only ever used the trad 225V Lincoln for steel and that was many years ago. Think what I got will do the trick?
i would tell them to get a new one
Takes 3-4 weeks to get one. Not an option.
I like your videos because it's the real world of doing repairs, not theory.
Thank you. !
🦭
🗿
How much does a job like this cost
I could not agree more with that statement it's always people that don't really know anything that give us the data just one weld at a time though
Yup!!
Does it say the bwuetoof dewice is ready to connekti?
Imagine if it had a buildt in speaker
Why though?
Control base was flopping around so i wipped out the magic metal machine
Haha burns the chinesium just fine.
Oh boy, it's working.
Actually suprised me.
Forney is the worse rods in the world
Haha they are something alright.
Thank you very much for sharing!😀
Cool machine guys!
Not if welded correctly 👍🙌
I appreciate this video man. I've been thinking about buying one of their hoods and haven't been able to find any solid reviews. How's it holding up
No problem brother. Im actually working on a 1 year review of the hood. But in short: its holding up fine!
@@aweldersjourney thank you for responding. I'm placing an order with them today. I'm excited to pick one of these things up.
@@timothymorris1819hell yea bud! Wich one did you go for?
you need to go deeper it is going to crack again
ur fricken awesome man
✌🏻brother
wow I did not know they still sell the big Lincoln AC welders! I thought they all came from a museum :D
Hahah i was suprised aswell
Doggin it in
those welds are dogshit. I Respect your hard work good job
Trust me the Garbage wont notice haha. Thanks brother.
Always push it with Tig you push the torch to the filler and if you switch to a gas lens will help you out with argon gas coverage..
Thanks for these tips!
Holding your breath
😂 you get used to the smell after a while
I know its a garbage truck , but why not cleaning (grinding) the place where you need to weld first? I know you know it will weld better and smoother
I completly agree i have no excuses it was saturday and i was a bit hungover.
@@aweldersjourney Its ok. as i said you knew it and i understand it now. keep on the good work
Thanks brother!
dog and wedge
Yes sir!!
Garbage compactor
Yup garbage truck.
From here on, I follow you.
Welcome!!!
Ok. Never give up. Never lose focus on your goals. Because the moment you do, is the moment you lose yourself. Remember that brother, and you will become stronger.
Appreciate the strong words bud!!
Tremendous, knowledge is power. Also excellent song selection.
Yes sir!!
i never weld but i want to get into tig im buying a welding machine next week i see that u move your torch away fast after u weld don't remove your torch away fast let it cool off that can mess up your tungsten but i watched a lot of videos of tig
Another good tip thanks.! Lots of little things i need to learn still.. wait for the puddle. Move slower. Wait to remove torch etc etc. im exited to keep practicing.
@@aweldersjourney yea same brother im getting a weld machine maybe this week n im exited cant wait to start practice makes perfect keep grinding
@@ocxsz keep me updated on how it went!
Clean material with grinder so your arcing up on clean metal... Clean tungsten everytime... you seem to be feeding and pulling like SMAW... you move push the torch like GMAW and fill from the front
I appreciate these tips man thanks, ive noticed ive been traveling the wrong way. I will correct it and clean everything more.
See if your right hand move from right to left
Ok i will!
You absolutely do need super thin gloves on each hand one because you need to be able to feel the handle of the torch in your hand two because you need to be able to feed the filler metal without it hanging up on your glove thin gloves allow you the dexterity you need to accurately perform tungsten inert gas arc welding always clean what you're going to weld tungsten inert gas welding does not like dirty metal it will spit and you don't want it to do that you want to hold a consistent Gap always avoid dipping the tungsten into your puddle it will cause you an erratic Arc and you'll have to re sharpen it it's really not that hard it's just these rules you must always follow and never light up without the gas bottle on and if you do please don't breathe the fumes coming off the tungsten electrode tungsten oxide gas is harmful
Brother im putting this on a sticky note these are good tips!! Thanks! And makes good sense. !
Clean the metal
Yes! Ive realized that when tig the metal has to be very very clean.
Because when I'm welding I'm in a different zone I feel like I'm part of the metal
Zen with the metal
