@nitro_ctr I have vsync disabled in nvidia control panel and whenever I set my game to full screen mode it unlocks the fps cap. I have set max fps in nvidia control panel to 180 because the speed benefits get smaller and smaller the higher your fps is. One reason is that some strats become impossible because slide-spin spacing is different and crash also falls faster and some hole skips become impossible. Im also on windows 10 which works very differently to windows 11 in things related to fps capping so I dont know how it works on windows 11.

@@Acrilochilipepper Sorry but I dont know what you mean by this. Is the video laggy somewhere that may cause this? I havent watched this video completely on yourube and have no idea if youtube messes up the quality or if something else went wrong when uploading this video.

Thank you! On higher fps Crash moves slightly faster the higher the fps is, with diminishing returns. Other differences are falling speed being faster and movement feeling more responsive (the latter might just be something I imagine). Falling speed being increased means starting hobslides is A LOT easier but it also makes doing some hole skips impossible. For example @0:14 you can hobslide over the pit on 60fps but with uncapped it is not possible. This doesnt matter though because starting a new hobslide is so much easier so I can just do that on the left side of the pit. I think people do these uncapped runs mainly for the fun of being able to do annoying hobslides easily which often changes how the level plays.

PS4 has lower fps (somewhere around 30) which makes this significantly harder. This probably limits the ways you can start hobslides but for example the hills in turtle woods should still work. Small elevations will probably not work. I would focus on pressing spin and jump buttons as fast as possible as that should make it easier to start them.

@@someniceguy524 I'm not sure but I think it has been known for years. It is very luck based at the moment and thats why people aren't doing it in runs. Only reason this run has it is because I lost so much time in the early game and that was just a hail mary to save an otherwise dead run. In the future I might need to go for it every time just because. 😆

I see guess RNGesus blessed your run. I'm amazed that this is the first time I saw that strat, coz i never saw doing that since I watched nst runs during lockdown days

@@someniceguy524 While it is luck based people still have to know how to do it and not many have bothered to learn it because of how random it feels. Hopefully some day it will be more consistent and Im definitely going to spend more time researching it because I dont really feel like wasting 90% of my runs there. 😅

Thanks man. After Plant food I was like whatever but after Tiny I started focusing so much harder. This might have been my best warp 4 so far which is ironic as thats usually my worst warp and of course in the same run every other warp was kinda bad.

Running this game on kb&m sounds insane. I kinda want to try that one day 🤣

@@CrashingSnake Thank you, I appreciate it. Your runs gave me a great challenge, especially the sewer one that I didnt break in this video. I definitely wouldnt have pushed all the levels as far if the records werent already so good.

@@Krisuchu i was very limited by the constant fps drops and overheating of my PC, so I did what I could fast without optimising and I didnt/couldn't implement more strats and bring most of the levels to their true potential . Always nice to see someone bringing originality into the runs! And I like that you try to help with commentary analysis too.

@@CrashingSnake Thats really unfortunate but also makes it even more impressive. Im a big fan of videos explaining speedruns and I think knowing whats actually happening and why is really important for the viewer so Im trying my best to make things more clear for everyone. Glad you liked it! 😁

It gets destroyed by the nitro detonator at the end :D In this level the marginals are so slim that even missing a 1 second crate is a huge deal.

The ground between the entrance door and the platform is just slightly lower than the entrance door itself so you can barely do a hobslide there. :D

Thank you! Yeah I dont know what the hell happened there. The glitch is usually so consistent in this level. I wish it was like that in bear levels.

@@Krisuchu Wasn't it deemed slower to do the Early Finish in this level? I have some memories of it being talked about in the HD server

Thank you! Hippo hob was definitely the hardest trick at first but somehow the second pole hob has been a pain recently. The last strat is really minor improvement but its also really annoying to perform. I just have to add it because Im so annoyed about the inconsistency of the level itself. 😆 You can lose time anywhere and it really feels like its all rng.

Thank you! The glitched movement tech we use is called hobslide and thats what you can see me doing here most of the time. Starting them actually involves jumping so hopsliding could also work as a name. 😆

@@Krisuchu does hobslide work for PlayStation? That’s how I play crash

@@pietropiscina6916 it does but it is a lot harder on console because of the fps difference makes the timing a lot more precise. It is still definitely usable.
