I am just learning about PPL. I have a question to ask you. I am a Rightsholder and also a performer. I am with Soundexchange, BMI and also I have a publisher. I would like to know if I sign with you guys would it be a problem because those entities is collecting on my behalf already

Could you possibly clarify something? If someone is an author, performer, and a recording rightsholders, and effectively self-publishes, and who is a already a member of PRS For Music and who distributes their music through a Distribution Company (for instance, TuneCore), could you please advise: Will all and any Royalties due be collected by and between PRS and the Distribution Company (for instance, TuneCore)? Or, would they also need to join PPL? And/ or would they also need to join MSPC? And/ or would they need to join any other such body (to ensure all due Royalties are paid)? If someone joined PPL now, and the Artist actually released a track(s) a few years ago, would PPL be able to collect Royalties due to that Artist for the preceding years?

As a relative Newbie, the distinction between Performers Royalties, Mechanical Royalties, authors, recording rightsholders, etc is just a mesmerising maze that seems to quickly head down the rabbit hole.
