2020 Nemo Kunai 2P Backpacking Tent - Review
Просмотров 16 тыс.4 года назад
My quick and broad review of the new 2020 Nemo Kunai 2P Backpacking Tent. Spoiler: it's fantastic. List price $499, but I snagged mine on sale from Moosejaw for $375, not including the footprint / ground tarp.

why would take a gun with you ?
The New Mexico/Texas/Colorado area has some unfriendly animals that are not uncommon to run into. I ran into a coyote in big bend and it kept away, but it's nice to have a plan if they don't
Do you think this would hold up well for Mount Shasta in June?
Hi Looks like is nice tent. Lives in Greenland and need a tent that functions well in snow, wind, rain and warmer summer weather with many mosquitoes and is not too heavy. Thinking of using it as a person's hiking tent with plenty of space. I am 2 meters (6 Feet, 6 Inches) tall. Do you think it is long enough for me and is vestibule large enough that you can safely cook in it in bad weather Hope you can help
Hi Jesper, I don't think this tent would work very well for someone as tall as you. I'm 6'2" and it feels like I'm approaching the maximum height to be comfortable. However, Nemo makes a 3p model of the Kunai which has a larger floor area and significantly larger vestibule. I believe the 3p model would better suit your needs. From what I've seen, Greenland is stunningly beautiful. I hope I get to visit someday!
How has this held up in storms?
Erm, set it up with the entrance facing the wind? Are you sure about that? Thought I'd seen nemo videos saying the other way round, in high winds with the door open it would take off surely?
Heya, great vid. Nice sidearm also. I was wondering if you could fit 2 inflatable winter sleeping pads in there ? for me and my gf
Hi can you check the exact weight with the storage bag and without? Thanks!
Is there a way to put up the tent in rain without everything getting wet (E.G. put up the outer tent first or have both tents connected while putting it up??
@2:38 😂
What was that in that pocket right there? ;)
Thanks for the upload. And yes this is the 2020 version. Just snagged one.. Added bonus, I do like Nemo giving a lifetime Warranty. Hope I dont need to use it.
will this work for the AT?
Absolutely! I love the AT. Backpacked many many miles on that trail years ago, and I wish I had this tent back then! Would have saved me from a couple soggy mornings.
For a thru hike? There are much lighter options.
Sick video! Encouragement for my travels. Peace!
Is this "really " a 2 person tent?? Will 2 person with their sleeping pat fit in?
This is meant as a crossover style tent from 3 season to 4 season. We used to call these convertibles. Usually, in the 4 season segment you see smaller bodied tents that not used for base camping. So, yes it is designed for 2 people and yes, it will be tight. I would venture to say that the producer of this video is maybe not the intended end user, rather someone who might do mountaineering light and camps in some exposed terrain.
alpsalish couldn’t have said it better myself!
Thumbs up for the humor.
Got one in my cupboard, hoping to give it a whirl post corona as we're heading into winter here in Australia. Doubtful of squeezing a second body in there though. Wish it was 10-15 cm wider.
Carl Agreed, it’s a bit of a tight fit. Your camping partner had better be comfortable with getting “comfortable” with you, when it comes to squeezing two people in here. I’ll say though, I’ve had ample room for myself and my Osprey Atmos 65 in this thing, everytime. 👍
2/5 i need bear and no humans.
