Our Favourite Storytelling Rap Songs (ft. Abiade) | Rhymes Like Dimes Podcast
Yeah but Drake has probably written more than Kanye and Dr Dre combined
“I don’t push my tunes out there, I like to be discovered” that’s exactly it. All my friends listen to Central Cee or Dave when they’re feeling some UK stuff, I put on Apex and everyone’s like 👀 Most of the time, it’s the ones with significantly less followers that have significantly better music, just my opinion though
Kendrick is THE ONE and has been that guy for a decade now
How can no one say Juicy that’s the most iconic
If kendrick drops an album of west coast hits on his next album he will go down as the goat. It'll be like messi winning the world cup.
He’s always been in GOAT convos He’s easily the best of his generation facts
There is no such thing as the goat of an era or goats or a fking flock it’s THE greatest of all time not the greatest of all time of my era tf is with these participation trophies
There’s no such thing as being the greatest/best of the era you’re in? Yeah that makes a lot of sense
@@rhymesdimespod right because it means of all time you can’t be of all time of an era you can be the best of your era you can do your thing there can only be one goat
@@cr4ftyazme544 it’s an expression bruh 😆
@@rhymesdimespod no it’s not it was used to describe special people Ali Tyson Michael Jackson Eminem tiger woods Michael Jordan these people have achieved things in their crafts no one has they have been the ones to set the bar until this idiot generation watered it down to being anything impressive
Easily
No question for me.
What do rappers do for the prison industry. They convince minorities to act and become stupid enough to wind up in jail. Music industry + for profit prison industry = a happy Wall Street
No such thing as the goat for pop stars.
Well that's bullshit. Michael Jackson is easily the GOAT of Pop stars.
6 head season right here 😂 let it go guys 😂 😂
a milestone
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
People don't put enough respect on devilman
Lord Apex is such an underrated artist man, he deserves his flowers
will there be youtube footage coming out of this show for those who didnt make the live show?
@@TariqAmazin yes! Very soon
Central cee is from BUSH! Hammersmith and fulham!
Respect to y’all! Very sick concept. I think what would’ve made it better is rather than one person picking per borough everyone picks one and then you all deliberate but I’m assuming it was done this was way due to time constraints. Regardless big up yourselves, you’ve got a new fan in me!
@@SDKIZZLE thank you my friend and yeah spot on, time constraints and we wanted to position everyone as being the knowledge base of each side of London educating the rest, but definitely appreciate the feedback, big up
How is Ms Dynamite - A Little Deeper not mentioned for Islington? Also No Thank You is by far better than Grey Area let’s be real.
Dynamite's from Kentish Town (Camden) and SIMBI vs No Thank You is a good debate
Barnet 9th Street
Stay Poor Or Run The Streets. Best project outta Hackney. Hackney knows!!!
100% 🔥🔥🔥
great stuff🔥
thank you!
I know you guys are young but please the guys, uk rap goes back to the 80s bare west rappers with albums, pre Cench and Digga etc. she rockers, cash crew, outlaw posse, Mc D to name a few, also North London is completely different from NW London.
i mean, we're perfectly aware when how long UK rap has been around, and for the purpose of the debate we bunched north and north west London together
NORTH IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO NORTH WEST. NORTH IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO NORTH WEST!!
we can hear you, and for the purpose of the debate they were bunched together
@@rhymesdimespod it would of made more sense to bunch north-west and west then. It would be quicker to get to south London then north
Nice video concept . I do think that it should be clear if someone is part of an area due to place of birth or growing up there
it's peppered throughout but noted, appreciate the feedback
Klash is proper....but the foundation of British rap is dudes like Hijack, ade, DerekB - Massive Attack outsold every UK rapper added up!
Definitely there foundation and big them up! but we could keep going Back to jazz/skatt/ or slave even songs lol But in regards to the new wave of rappers he paved the way..
Them rappers done their thing. But they wasn’t rapping in the British accent. Klash is the pioneer. Legendary in fact as he made it cool to rap with the British accent 🇬🇧 and not American 🇺🇸 .
😂😂
Good concept for a show. Could have been executed better... They need to put a time limit on it on album releases. For example, Albums released within the 5-7 years. Comment on at least 3-5 Albums within those boroughs, maybe the stand out tune from each album, and some stats on if it charted or is classed as a street classic. They all should have an album for each borough to put forward and discuss. More research to be done on Artist, where they are from, their biggest tunes etc...
Harlesden isnt north london it is North West london🤨
Disagree with Redbridge. As good as Daff is, I don’t think he’s got the best project from there
What would you say is Redbridge's best project?
@@rhymesdimespodEither Nic Hundrds - Blood Cry, La Swave - King Of Essex, La Swave - Love Scars, Kalam - Pride and Paranoia, Jabz - Ready To Rumble or Ronson - Billie SZN. Daff’s project is a good project but all the better more well rounded artists and projects came after him
Tinchy is from tower hamlets in particular bow not newham
The East African Dude knows his stuff ! He was 1:02:00 and he was so correct !
Got it spot on, down to the drip walking
kam-bu - black on black. for richmond
great shout, great project
Am I the only one who clocked how easy Harrow is… it’s Fredo. He’s got some clean projects.
hes not from harrow...
How can you pick little Simz over skinnyman or joe black for Islington🤦♂️
the fact that they weren't even mentioned hurts my brain
Smh A Council Estate of Mind not being mentioned is straight blasphemy ngl
Sutton and no Croydon ??
@@Righteous_Reck check part 1
Saying Microphone Champion is not in Skepta's top3 is an incredibly rude statement, damn.. 😔😲 also surprised Spades - MMMP2 didn't get a shout..
Microphone Champion isn't better than Ignorance Is Bliss....
Part of Kensal Rise is in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, so if Bashy from that part of KG then it’s H&F
Armando Spence - El Tranquilo HARD mixtape released this year and you should check it out!!! Barnet has got a special one coming up 🏆
never heard of him but fairs!
There’s other solid projects from Lewisham that defo should have been in the mix… Fekky - Brandy & Coke Fekky - El Clasico P Money - Live & Direct P Money - Coinz 2 Notes Don Strapzy - Blue Steel Don Strapzy - Blue Magic
live & direct for sure
Waltham Forest gotta be Young Spray - RTM Vol.1 Honourable mention for Stana - Porridge
Surprised Jammer didn’t get a mention for legacy alone
Great shout
Cench is H&F 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
He was born in Grove.
@@SethLonDon but he grew up in bush
Youngs Teflon - GMT 2 best project from Lambeth hands down
Peter would be happy to see this
MIA is from Mitcham -Merton not Hounslow. These people need to know London better 😂😂😂
born in Hounslow
We mentioned her being raised in Mitcham...
Is this guy even from west?😂 Cench is Hammersmith and Fulham
You guys have had a full on debate about Wild West and it doesn’t even belong to that borough!😅
he spent a few years of his early life in grove so can claim it
lehgoland by len - new age lambeth - would genuinely put that tape up there
wow fairs, i like that project
we go again
