Thank you for making this video. Yes it helps me understand the process a bit better. My original plan is to go to South Korea in 18 months (approximately when I turn 50). I am 4 months into language learning with an online course as well as a weekly private tutor. The main reason I want to volunteer is for immersion and to break out of the tourist bubble, so that I can better use my language skills and also experience more authentic culture. I know there are some positions I am not qualified for, or would even want, like say organic farming. But I think working as a receptionist at a hostel or something similar might be a good fit and those types of positions don't tend to have an upper limit on age. I anticipate that I will be conversational, but not fluent in my Korean by that point. I can already read Korean, albeit slowly, but still lack the vocabulary and grammar to grasp what I am saying. I'm still at the point where I sort of freeze up when someone speaks to me in Korean because I only know 75-100 words, but I am adding roughly 10 new words per week. It's the sort of thing though where I always feel a bit behind and I struggle quite a bit with the formal vs informal grammar. Ultimately I want to give myself more options when I retire, probably around 55. I've lived in California all my life and the cost of living is pretty crushing and not something I could realistically maintain on a pension. I think at that age I would still be young enough to have another 20 years of work left in me, but I would like it to be something new, challenging and educational. Hazelnut coffee and banana milk is such a god combination 🤤

Alright I’m back in Korea. I did half banana milk and hazelnut coffee and it’s almost like a banana bread taste but the hazelnut takes over a bit more. I also did half hazelnut and the one with a orange-ish brown top, tastes like caramel to me. Let me tell you both are delicious! The lady at the CU knew exactly what I was looking for when she saw the banana milk in my hand as I looked for hazelnut coffee. 😂 update I just did a ice caramel coffee with the orange/brown cap milk (caramel flavor?) and it was even better!

It was delicious 🤤 banana milk makes every coffee better 🫣
