This is great engine Honda built this motor for KZ the exhaust is competing with original 4 in to 1 witch I got on my machine mine has Real sound vocals that turns heads mint show Room condition CB SS Legend machine Great Looking absolutely beautiful premuim extended factory frame in best motorcycle in World OG show Bike my 2nd same bike since early 80s just got Like New beautiful definitely crowded pleaser Honda is best super Bike ever & KZ 1000 90s GSXR 1100R 4 in to1 nothing can come close.
It's just loud like that since it's in the garage, ive heard kz's with open 4 into 1 no baffle pass by my house, didnt sound that loud to me but it had a really good sound to it.
Are you sure it was open 4 in to 1 let me pass your crib I'll definitely get your attention quick I got Original exhaust 4to1open excellent sound deep Rich loud on vintage legendary show bike 👍HONDA 💪🏆
Proud owner of a 75’ bone stock except four 4/1 header Z1b. Owning a modern sportbike 40 yrs later, the Ol Kaw still demands respect. Remember these things had a steel frame, steel wheels, no fuel injection, breaker point ignition and weighed a good 150 lbs more with a good pilot could run in the 11’s.
I just can't help but wonder, why post an otherwise run of the mill dyno run without including hp and torque results? I mean, what else is the purpose?
had one just like this. nothing I miss more than that gsxr killing kz! sure miss that fucking sound at 9000 rpm! makes me want to cry like a baby whenever I see and hear a properly built one.
i had a 1979 kawasaki,,, i was running 11.17 at 137 miles per hour,,,mind you this was on a formula hard ass street tire,,,, my bike was suppose to be good for about 175 horse power,, with a proper tire ,, my bike should have been close to a 9.40,, my bike was one of the rare X1R TC,, BIKES under cut 2nd and 4 th gears , 5 quart oil pan, copper gasket,, bike shifted 2000 in the red,, was indistructable and unbeatable,, could snap the tire loose in excess of 100 miles per hour,,unless i had a passenger,, then the bike would lift the front wheel,, was and still is the closest thing to a raped ape i have ever wrapped my legs around
Love the bike, I have a 83 kz1100, minus the shaft drive being a slight problem I'd like build the engine due to it being prior abused and neglected. How hard is it to get to 160?
On an 1100, I don't know but on a KZ1000 damn near Impossible unless you can give it a 6th Gear somehow, Even with a pretty high build and keeping it streetable I could only get my KZ1000 up to around 138 GPS Indicated.
I miss my kz's. I was 14 when I got my first one 83 KZ750 and after a week took it to the track ran 12.36. Then got a 78 KZ1000 (11.70's) and a 81 GPZ1100 (11.0's) couple years later.
I used to have a 1974 kawaski z1 900... electronic ignition full vance amd hines, 29mm smoothbore carbs with stacks. Kickstart. Struts with a flat seat, spoked wheels, custom black with ghost flames, stock bore size but with everything built that thing was extremely fast... got stolen over night a while back, i never found it... they loaded It up on a trailor because you could hear it start miles away.. worst day of my life ive been trying to find another z1 ever since
160? sounds like a lot for a Z-1 even with 1260 but i guess it's possible-- should run in the 9's then. I like that one piece seat, fake tank, etc. I had a 74 for many years, 1015 wiseco kit, 29 smooth bores, megacycle 417 cams, crank welded, head ported, etc. still nothing vs the new bikes as i had a 2005 ZX-10, that bike would walk on the old bikes, i used to like the Wiseco 'blocks' to take the place of the stock cyl. it looked cool but sleeve NG for the street, 2 much heat-- great classic
Nice to see you raked the front end.Believe it or not, finally got my 76 KZ 900 drag bike back to me after 30 years in storage (those divorces are brutal, LOL)...you can see it at fastharryDOTcom...If you have any parts for sale (a motor would be nice), contact me through my website...your bike is sweet....Regards, harry
my dads got one a these is it a 77 check out my video. 1977 KZ1000 drag bike. thats the title of the video. My dads bike has run a best time of 9.86 in the 1//4 mile. Beutiful bike by the way
sooooo dope!!!!

The only reason for not posting the dyno numbers is that the numbers are less than impressive
Wtf
That sound of pure power is ossum...
and the taco reads........12k, red line at 9 :)
Beautiful KZ ! That’s slick w/the tank,seat,fender.
Worst video ever
Would love to know what axle combination this has. Is there a build video?
I need to get my 78Gs1000 dyno after ground up restored

Nice bike. As asked 2 years ago, what was the dyno readout? It would be great if you could reply.
Surprisingly it was 63hp and 50ft#torque. 😂
I just can't help but wonder, why post an otherwise run of the mill dyno run without including hp and torque results? I mean, what else is the purpose?
post the dyno sheet man

+Jon Schlegel sorry Z1R TC
wow where did the extra 45 hp come from? "1978 Kawasaki Z1R-TC. Claimed power: 130hp @ 8,500rpm"
Then you sould try a 2008 hyabusa
This bike Sounds awesome
I would rather see it go down the track then do a burnout .

I've had my stock 76 up to 180 plus.
I've seen plenty of built old bikes that will smoke about any new bike being produced.
I'd rather have this then sex anyday!
what is the best octane rating gas to use for a dyno run?
i'd think a fuel ratio gauge would be beneficial to this bike seeing how it is cutting out
84 Bhp , for a stock Z900
If it were phisically possible, I would have sex with that bike. That thing is sick. You'd almost have to be crazy to ride it though xD
WICKED LAUNCH MAN!!!!!!
wat mods does it have????
Hell yes.. I need one of these for going work everyday
1975 Kawi 900Z1, 1261cc 2x cams stock head 35mm Amil carbs raked 6" over 7" tire... 9.45 @ 138... yes... beats Busas all day long
A prime example of why some ppl shouldn't be allowed spanners.
