Math videos to support remote and face-to-face learning at Algonquin College. Courses include MAT1520, MAT8521, MAT8051, MAT8001C, MAT8100, MAT8101, MAT8201, SCI8511, and MAT8001G. Topics from MAT8810 and MAT8820 are also covered. Plus whatever else I end up teaching along the way (looking at you DAT0086). Never thrilling but hopefully helpful.

thank you for the video , very well made . :) . Just what I was looking for .
Very good explanation. What can be the maximum size difference between the driver & driven gear . If the teeth profile of two mating gears is exactly same , can we mesh any output driven gear of infinite size with any smallest possible input gear (driver ). My second question - in the practice example of compound gears A, B , C & D ( 12, 24, 12 & 18 teeth ) , can we calculate how much toque is at gear C ? & how to calculate that
Perfect thanks for that explanation
Thank you very much! This is the video I was looking for. Great video!
Hi Maam how to find suitable numbers of theeth pairs on the ratio For example I have 3stage helical gearbox for 500 center distance and their ratio is 108.755=109 and there center hight=195 so how to find their suitable numbers of gears and pinion teeth pairs
Well explained
isn't 31:05 suppose to be (AB)' * B * C' ? meaning the AB' is multiplied as one gate by the B and the C'
Thanks a lot, very simplified and easy to understand!! I appreciate you makimg this video!
So 4:32 the input 20 teeth is 1.5 and output teeth 30 teeth is 1 ?
Thank you very much I was looking for it and I got a right video 🙏
👍👍👍
Just a ratio. So what this tells you is that your drive shaft will turn 4.37 times for one full revolution of your final drive or rear wheels
What softwar do you use to prepare you lessons?
I thought that was excellent. I’m currently working on that problem with my 1950 ford. I didn’t know how to figure the pressure at the rear wheel cylinder because there is actually two pistons inside a wheel cylinder. Thank you for the help on that. My only question is why isn’t the area between a two piston caliper figured into the detailed description you gave to us.
Exactly my question!
Valid - it's because the audience is pre-apprenticeship. Slow steps.
I love machines, but the mathematics would rack my brain
vice versa for me.
Jenn can you please explain why at 12:57 you put the x in the denominator instead of the numerator for the proportion? I really need help understanding that. Is there somewhere i can message you directly
I think you mean for the speed calculation? Speed is inversely proportional to the gear ratio. So, if I set up my gear ratio as output/input, I have the speed side of the equation as input/output. I have the input speed, I'm solving for the output speed. This means my "x" goes in the denominator. Sorry for the delay in responding!
how is R1234 = 10x5 / 10 +15 = 3.33? when 10x5=50 and 10+15=25 then 50/25=2??? Where does this shortcut come from?
Should be 10x5/(10+5) or 50/15 = 3.33. Thanks for catching it!
V🎉formula on how to calculate teeth geers of diameter.
You're good!
Excellent video. Thanks
you are my favorite love your math
15:23 "fewer revolutions," not "less." i knew you weren't smart.
Or I'm not good at grammar. All people have strengths and weaknesses. I hope the mathematical point still comes across despite my poor choice of words.
@@jennlexmond5738 yes the mathematics are superb. Most of us appreciate your work. Thank you.
you are a legend your explanations are very fantastic cheers
tusen takk
Great presentation. Ma'am! During your presentation from 0.53 seconds, I saw in your video inside a square box, "we can use combinations of these seven gates to create all electronic circuitry" !!!? Can you update the statement: " we can use either NAND or NOR gates to create all electronic circuitry". Thank you!
Äzi eller bruning?
Very nice explanation. Thank you
wow, thank you.
thanks really enjoyed this video your a great instructor please do others related to aviation
Very delayed response - what are you looking for?
@@jennlexmond5738 lemac maybe weigh and balance and or landing gear thanks for the response
This was awesome thank you.
so excellent
Thank you for sharing this with us. At 24:35 why is it 1 at F 2nd row?
Legit - it should be zero. I blame kids or dogs distracting me?
Tysm u teaching is very nice so is your laugh😃
Informative.
Bless. Best math teacher out there
Awww.. thanks!
Wonderful you videos miracle found
Really great video .
Thanks Wadi
How did you get that X n 1? Btw nice explanation 😀
Great video. A lot better than some that I seen.
Thanks!
Hey jenn so I have a homework in which i have to do a true table, a Boolean algebra and a k-map with si F= mid (3,5,6,7) but I don’t really understand
You'll start by building the k-map - there are some great RUclips vids out there on this. From the k-map comes the Boolean expression and the truth table.
@@jennlexmond5738 thanks bro
This was so helpful! The only video I've watched that actually made me understand and talked about having 3 inputs! (especially being NOT) which is what my question for my studies was similar too. Thank you! Great video.
Cool. Glad it helped.
I understand it!! I think it was to fast paced in class, this I could pause an work out the equations, thanks
Awesome. Class is a gongshow. This is (hopefully) a reliable fallback.
Great the lesson and Best of luck
Love this!
Amazing!
Saving my life right now lol Taking this with Caroline W and the entire class has zero clue ……. Miss your classes! You are not teaching MAT8100 eh this term eh? :(
Look at you go! I'm 3 x 8001C. But, if your order is trig-AB-radicals-linear systems-factoring-graphing-vectors-complex numbers you can use trig (I haven't done trig graph videos), AB, factoring, and vectors (only vectors 1). The modules are the same. I'll do graphing and linear systems but you might cover them before I teach/create them. Use whatever helps and feel free to pass them around.
Sooo... literally the entire class (aside from a few) failed this first test lol I have shared you and your videos with my mates, you WILL be our secret weapon this term 🤓 I miss your teachings like I never thought... me.... missing math lessons ... lol 😆 you are amazing!
Thanks! Trig graph video just got posted....
Jenn! Jenn! She's our friend, if she can't do it..nobody bloody well else will!
