covered in kindness
Добавлен 9 дек 2017
I am a working mom that has a side addiction to quilting and hiking. I plan on mostly doing quilting videos for the beginner through expert that wants something quick and beautiful. I am known by my family and friends as incredibly "fast" at whipping up a quilt. I wanted to share my over ten years experience with others. And I just got a long arm. That's right, I just got a BabyLock Coronet. So now I am learning a whole new world of quilting. Learn with me as we cut, piece, and quilt!

easy tote bag
This is a great first project for a beginner sewist. Or someone who wants to branch out from quilting. I just started making bags a few years ago! Now I can't stop. Enjoy!

This is a great project if you want to try new things. I show you the straight-forward way, but you could practice some free motion or whatever strikes your fancy. I made these for a friend that loves how versatile they are and fully microwaveable. Enjoy!

I used my Baby Lock Coronet to practice some long arming while doing this very easy project. This was fun and fast! Enjoy!

This is real life. I have a Baby Lock Coronet, and this is how I move or adjust my quilt on the frame. It is not the "prettiest" video out there, but it is what I actually do. Hope this is helpful! Please leave a comment on other Coronet videos you would like to see.
Easy machine binding for quilts

I LOVE binding! It makes the quilt perfect. At least it makes it done; which is pretty close to perfect. This is a fast and easy way to do machine binding. Hope this is helpful!

I have to change how I prepare my quilt (sandwich) now that I have a Baby Lock Coronet. Pretty sure I am not the only one in this position. This is my real life work; I am not a professional. Hope this is helpful!

I walk you through how I lay out my quilt, make my "sandwich", pin my quilt, and quilt my quilt on my small machine. This is part VLOG, part tutorial. I am actually quilting on my long arm, but I want people to see how I have done it for years.

This quilt is an easy first quilt to make. I made it to practice on my long arm, so either way I got your covered!
Setting tension on baby lock coronet
Просмотров 8 тыс.6 лет назад
Having trouble with your Baby Lock Coronet tension???? I was. Once I figured it out, I made a video to help others. Sorry about the low production quality; this is my first video. Leave a comment if this helped you with your long arm tension.
I just bought this same machine, gently used. Your video is exactly where I’m at, trying not to cry over wondering if I’ll ever get it to sew right! Thank you! I think I need better quality thread. Any insight on that question would be appreciated.
Thank you! I use superior threads so fine. Itbworks great. I also started using prewound bobbins from magniglide. But yhst might be for the future. I promise it is a stiff learning curve at first. When you got it, you got it! Keep going!🎉
I think it's nice you are doing you tube instructional videos, but it would be more professional if you didn't have your kid in there.
Want to say thanks so much for your video!! I bought a coronet in November and have struggled with the tension, bobbin winding as well. The top threads look better than the bottom.. I’m looking forward to your other videos:)
I have the same machine and frame and what I do is keep moving the quilt as many times as necessary to quilt about halfway down. Then I take it off the frame and turn it upside down and do the same thing starting from what was the bottom until I get to where it’s already quilted. On quilts that are wider than the frame, I turn it sideways and do the same thing, section by section. It prevents having such a big quilt roll that takes up half my quilting area. It’s still a big PIA but it gets the job done. Sometimes it’s necessary to repin the sandwich when changing directions to avoid pleats in the backing. I wish I had room for a bigger frame and a full sized longarm but that’s not going to happen so I mostly do smaller quilts.
Thank you! I’m new to the coronet and trying to teach myself!
I bought a Baby Lock Coronet and I can't get it to sew correctly. Could you possibly help me out! it's been a month and I'm still having trouble. 😮💨
Horrible video. You didn't show anything. Who cares about comments about your sewing storage when they pull up a video on loading a quilt frame. Try again.
Do you use the pole upgrade for the Coronet? Does it help?
Do you recommend this machine as a starter machine for long arm quilting?
Thank you. Very helpful.
OMG thank you so much!! You spend a king's ransom on a machine and can't even get a lesson or demo on how to use it. This was so incredibly common sense and helpful. Thank you !
You didn’t really show how you set it on from the beginning
Just found your video. Thank you!
I watched this video when I first got my Coronet about three weeks ago after waiting three weeks before that so I was a little afraid to dive right in and then dealing with Covid and Christmas so I really got busy today. I was so frustrated with rolling the bulk at the back that I almost cried. I called my dealer and they couldn’t really help me on the phone and since they are a three hours drive from me I was very discouraged. Then I remembered your video that I didn’t watch to the end and watched it again. I’m so glad that you went to the trouble of doing this video, you answered all my questions that my dealer couldn’t. Thank you (sew) much and yes, you do have a great little helper there. I would love to see more of your videos. Thank you, thank you and thank you.
I have been waiting for a new MacBook to make more videos. I think I'm ready! More videos to come. And a lot more experience!
Thank you ❤️ Thank you ❤️ Thank you ❤️ 😊
Some people say they pin rather than baste when adding the extra piece on the end. I think basting would be better, less chance of a screw up.
I think I would have enjoyed the video and learn more if you weren’t always interrupted with your child. Probably a good idea not to include her in your videos..She is cute though
You can buy fabric leaders that do that. you just attach them with safety pens or very large stitch that won't come out
I love my Baby Lock coronet how to have a problem with tension but I am working hard to Make sure that both sides are working girl thank you so much for your video appreciate it have a great day
This was helpful. Can you make another video on the same subject?
This is on my list! I haven't made videos in awhile because I need a new MacBook. Soon! And I have a lot more experience after all this time.
@@coveredinkindness7881 New Coronet owner... I'm watching and waiting. Appreciate so much that you took the time to share this very thoughtfully detailed tutorial.
I am still not able to get the stitches. right I don’t know if it is the bottom or top the problem
I have the picture of the thread out all the time to reference. Just play a little at a time. Hope you got it!
Good job! This is Hanna by the way, its super cool!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I had been soooo FRUSTRATED!! Watching your video helped me tremendously! I really appreciate your doing these videos! Look forward to seeing all of your videos!
Thank you so much, it worked, I have struggled with the tension for days, I watched your video three times and finally it worked! Thanks again. Any more tips on the Coronet is greatly appreciated.
I am at such a loss completely! I bought my Coronet 2 and 1/2 yrs ago! I'm intimidated by it, I just had my husband put the frame up and machine on the frame 2 months ago. I have no idea on how to load a quilt on it let alone how to bring up the bobbin thread etc other than what I read in the booklet. I'm hoping you have some beginner videos coming soon for complete newbies like myself. Looking forward to learning how to use my old/new toy. Jeri
Thank you for the 2 videos. I watched the other video of how you load the quilt onto the Coronet. I got my Coronet in 2017 and have done a few quilts. I, too, made some leaders (those long pieces of fabric that you sewed onto your quilt bottom). I am still not very comfortable with loading a quilt on the Coronet but this did help!
I just bought this same machine and have been playing with it for a few days. It has been a nightmare so far but I have used your videos for reference and they have helped immensely with the tension issues. I am having a problem though that I cant seem to find an answer to. I will be going along sort of smoothly and all of the sudden it's like my machine doesn't want to move freely and the stitches are about an inch long. I cant figure it out and wondered if you might have any advice. Greatly appreciate your videos and help.
Thank you for this video. I just bought a Cornet and was looking for projects that I would be able to practice on, but I really hate to waste the fabric. This is perfect.
I have tried using it with bags and other small projects. Anything to practice and use scraps. Enjoy!
Thank you. I bought a Coronet 2 years ago and it’s just sitting there. There were no classes on it at the store where I bought it. At the time I bought it there were maybe 4 or 5 videoes each about 3 min long I haven’t looked for videoes in awhile and just found you. This has been so frustrating. I am right now going to go turn it on. Thank you sooo very much!!
So glad I can help! I am planning on making a short video every week? Every other week? A video about general troubleshooting. I have been having minor issues that required some problem solving. We need to build a community and help each other out.😉
Help! I’m not sure what you mean by snapping the thread in.
Barbara Johnston make sure it is "snapped" in place in between the tension discs. You can hear it snap in there. It should rest on top, but rather be in between the discs. Hope that helps!
I’m quilting my first small quilt on my new machine and this is exactly what I needed to know. Thank you!
Sherri Skinner check back in the fall. I plan to do weekly short videos on specific things related to the machine. I have learned a lot! Can't wait to share!
i was having some tension struggles and your suggestions worked beautifully...thank you!
Do you love your machine?
Cheryl Moore I have been crazy busy lately and have had a TON of tension problems. I am sitting right now with, I like it. It does a great job when it works well. And is frustrating when it doesn't. I have learned a lot. I think I will do weekly tips videos next in the fall. At the end of the day, I don't have room for a bigger frame. I think the machine will last a long time. It is just not as "out of the box" friendly as I would like.
Mr. Severson is my teacher
Carly Thomas glad to have you! I have a video on how to make a tote bag coming soon. Check out some of my other small craft ideas.
Thanks for the info. Had trouble with the bulk too but now I know how to deal with it!
Thank you so much for making these videos. I just purchased my coronet in February. I have yet to make my first quote on it. I have been struggling with which thread to use. I was used Seracor polyester 40wt Without any problems. Then I purchased I said cord 40 weight polyester. When I use the bright pink in the top and bobbin I had no problem when I went to use the red my thread kept breaking.I read did the bobbin I rethreaded the machine machine Even change the needle. And I tried to adjust the tension I had nothing but problems. I was wondering what kind of spread you have found to be the most successful with your clarinet. And if it’s at all possible for you to continue making these videos I appreciate it. Because they are so specific to the coronet. Thank you so much.
Belinda Heller you are so welcome! I have a video in the make about thread and tension. Will post soon.
Sorry to keep you hanging. I am a teacher and mom and crazy busy. I have been having my own thread issues! I will start posting a weekly tips video starting in the fall. I have learned a lot by trial and error. It is frustrating when you can't get the tension right, but hopefully my videos will help with that.
Could you do a video... precision versus cruise and when you would use them showing some examples ? tyvm
Sure! I am crazy busy now with family stuff, but I can probably do one in the next few weeks.
Loved your video. I am a newbie and I have a Baby Lock Coronet. I’m getting ready to put my first big project in the frame. You have helped me to know how I’m going to do it.
You call those extra pieces of fabric leaders! I do that too!
Thank you! Glad to find your Coronet videos. Our church has one [approx 6mo] and the lady that helped write the grant for it claims she did not get the site link so that we could get online to learn how to use it properly. I'm going to attempt to do my first quilt on it Monday - wish me luck!
Queen of Creative let me know if you have any specific questions. I am figuring it out pretty quickly, and would love to share what I have learned. Happy quilting!
☺☺☺. I LOVE this video!!! The details are so clearly explained and the animation is terrific!!! Before I watched this, I had no idea what to do with my coronet, and now I'm busting out quilts like it's my job!!! Will definitely keep an eye on this wonderful channel!!!
unknown ambition thank you so much! I have 3 more videos to sit down and edit tonight. I have found some great projects that will give me valuable learning time on the Coronet. Keep an eye out!
I have one of these machine and should be starting to use it more next week. Keep the videos coming as this is the first longarm machine I have ever purchased and I'm looking forward to it. Hoping to have a good experience and I'm sure you can help me!
Nice video!
