I remember reading something about how this old man was a demon slayer. Nothing special just a regular demon slayer, and how he taught Inosuke the breathing and Inosuke developed beast breathing.

The only thing I don't get about Inosuke is how he got into the Demon Slayer Corps or rather its test and where he got his swords from
from the demon slayer it already explained in season 1 where he encounter a demon slayer and challenge him then took his sword.
As he explains to Tanjiro in season 1, a demon slayer found him, Inosuke beat him up and stole his sword and he heard about final selection (I believe from that slayer) so participated in it. This is the same final selection as Tanjiro to clarify. He just wasn’t there in the episode because he was the first up and down the mountain. He likely got his second sword from the ore he picked, then he was an accomplished enough slayer that they just gave him his two swords if and when they break going forward

Inosuke is actually very intelligent and high IQ. Thats why he picked up the language fast. And after he saw a DS use breating style. He best his guy took his sword and started to practice and created his own breating style.
