What key is this it’s A or B?
F, Bflat, Dflat, Gflat, Bflat, Eflat, for guitar. Its in B flat I believe.
Sounds like Cliff's tone was already maturing here! Awesome!! Love him forever. He's the reason why I started playing bass. Jason was an influence on me as well. :)
Yeah man, Cliff's tone was really nice, and he was an excellent bass player. It's a pity that he died at such an early age, he was a great musician
Jason was very good too. It's a shame that Metallica treated him so unfairly.
@@guitar582 Oh, you said it, my friend. In both comments. Cliff had just died pretty much when I discovered Metallica through a friend (my BFF who was 3 years older than me - even today, he's still 3 years older than me. Lol) He had a cassette of Master of Puppets which he sold me. As I got more into them I found out Cliff was 24; twice the age I was at the time as I was 12. I just left someone a comment and realized I am now twice the age Cliff was when he died; I'm 48 now. WEIRD as HELL! But I started playing bass pretty much after watching Cliff 'Em All in 6th grade and getting the $5.98 EP Garage Days Re-revisited the summer before 7th. I started playing because of BOTH Cliff and Jason. But, yeah, I will always believe they dropped the ball with Jason. I like Rob and I've been listening to him since he joined Suicidal Tendencies back in 1990. No offense if you like/love/whatever him in Metallica, but he's only been a hired hand to me in Metallica since the day he joined up until now. Jason carved his own path and had his own personality in Metallica just like Cliff and the others. Rob has been there 21 years and he still, to me, has not developed a personality in the band. He's just the nice, reliable, agreeable (too agreeable!!!) solid bass player who cannot sing backing vocals to save his life. And that hurts the live shows big time. When Jason was there, James could take breaks, cause Jason could even sing lead. But where it's really noticeable is in the backing vocals to so many songs - like 90% of their set list or more. Listen to Sad But True and Harvester of Sorrow, those 2 songs haven't sounded right live to me since Jason split. And the guys have to know this by now. They're just too stubborn to admit it. They are hurting during the live shows not only without Jason's backing and lead lead vocals but that CRAZY amount of energy of his and powerhouse live performances as well. I saw them 5 times on the Black Album tour and man, Jason could get that crowd PUMPED UP! Like I said, I really do love Rob, but Jason, if allowed to, could have easily played Orion (and I mean correctly. They made him change it cause they're so petty sometimes) and he definitely could've played Anesthesia, if they had let him. You're 100% correct. They treated Jason like crap. And in many ways I don't hear people mention like the examples I gave. I know it's a pipe dream, but before they call it a day, I really believe they are going to _need_ Jason back to help keep the live shows full of energy and take over lead from James to give him a break. Sorry for the novel of a comment. Lol I just love sharing my thoughts with other fans. And I don't care if people disagree with me or not. No biggie. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm always respectful of other fans opinions. Well, except maybe when they try and tell me that Metallica are better off now with Rob cause that's simply not true. Lol But even then, if that's your thoughts I will respect that. Especially cause it's your channel! Lol And hey, maybe have two bassists like they did at the 30th birthday and RnR HoF induction??? I'd be happy and in heaven with that decision! Cheers!
@@Oran_Lee_Bass Metallica was in its prime with Cliff and Jason. At that time, in my opinion, their best albums were released, and the band also gave their best concerts. But Metallica's live performances with Jason have always been their peak concert activity for me. I think, Metallica has never had such energy and charisma that Jason gave the band at concerts. Also, it's incredibly strange to realize that Rob has been in the band longer than Cliff and Jason combined. Trujillo is good, of course, but with him, live performances are not so cool anymore. By the way, thanks a lot for your comments! Despite the fact that they are quite large, it was very interesting to read them, so you have nothing to apologize for. Keep rocking!🤘
This is what Cliff was talking about when he said shortly after MoP came out that the lyrics and vocals are getting better and better. This was the album where James really became the only lyricist and most of all _singer_ of Metallica; no more trying to find a singer or try to persuade John Bush of Armored Saint to sing for them. I like John Bush but thank GOD he kept turning them down! It's one thing to picture Metallica with a typical 80s metal singer like Bush, but try and picture them with Armored Saint-style lyrics instead of James's unique lyrics. EEK!! No offense to Armored Saint but no thank you! There's a reason why Metallica hit the "big time" or went global; they didn't sound like cheesy-style metal or everybody else. And they stayed away from hairspray and spandex and crap (beyond 1983/84, at least - Shh!). They were far more street-level and down to earth (thanks in part to Cliff instilling that "Be yourself and do what YOU wanna do" attitude into them.)
🤟
Reminds of the 80's 🤘🤘
