Just my two cents. I've been doing at energy modeling with a firm for almost a year and I've grown to absolutely loath Trace 3D. In your examples, you're using a very simplistic building which works well for a demo. However when one gets to doing load design/energy modeling consistently, projects are far from simple. I've had Trace 3D's building drawing tool consistently fail on itself (creating duplicate walls, inserting 0 geometry surfaces, etc.) Trane has added both a "heal geometry" tool and a "reconcile building" tool but both have also failed to fix corrupted files leading to me having to sometimes restart my project from scratch. Since it's essentially an Energy Plus wrapper as well, most error messages come out super cryptic and even Trane support reps haven't been able to help troubleshoot. My current project has now gone several months overtime simply because this software lacks resilience and error handling. For new users, try to learn HAP or explore smaller tools like HVAKR to help you become familiar with load design and/or Trace 3D. If you're working on a 1 story building with a small handful of rooms and a simple VAV system, Trace 3D might work out ;)
Hello i have hydraulic engineering degree not the mechanic one but it's about water pipeline can i do this job because in last year we learn how to size air canalisations but just a little in HSE course ?
@@kokimorai9532 yes you can, especially if you have taken courses on thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
Thanks a lot. Appreciated.
I learnt HAP in less than 3 days. I would say it’s the easiest software to learn for beginners.

What do you think about Wrightsoft for Load Calculations on smaller projects like multifamily apartments?

Great content! Very informative. I just want you to know that I am interested in the online course you’re offering. I hope you’ll make a video about it, like the prerequisites and the things we need to prepare before enrolling. Thank you. I appreciate your work.

So just increase fan speed?!
So germs don't just sneak in through random door seals or internal building openings but from a controlled place ie a vent ? but the room still needs a filter on its own besides the buildings stand alone filtration system... would a bidirectional filter be useful or would it prevent vent or duckwork valves that simply really on static pressure to open or close to fail ...so they need a vent valve with a ball joint style knob ...
...let me know if I'm wrong please... and any resources that taught you please

Hi, I’m from Structural Engineering background, and I only know about Fluid mechanics…I want to know if they teaches this in university from basic component step by step up to designing.
Colleges/universities mostly teach only thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanica
Revit has a lot of Excel functions. Thanks for this informative video! I would have liked to material on the naming convention as a pdf file for download.

Does learning this knowledge alone make you employable as an HVAC engineer, or do you also need an engineering degree? I completed the HVAC program at my local community college and learned a lot of these topics. The program I took prepares you to be an HVAC technician. Do I need to go further in my education and complete an engineering program at a university to be an HVAC engineer?
The answer is not simple. You can be a HVAC Engineer without a 4-year bachelor’s degree and get a job. However, getting a job when you have both the knowledge and the engineering degree is much more easier. Also, you grow in your job faster if you have an engineering degree.
@@aeclearnsorry I'm completely new to this stuff. When you say engineering degree, what exactly do you mean? Software engineer or mechanical engineer? And what would be best for an HVAC Engineer?
I experienced HAP, Tracer and Elite apps for many years, however I decided to go with IES due to its flexibility for high performance and highly customisable HVAC applications where the other three static heat load apps cannot come closer.
Thanks!

Hi sir This is Nizamudeen and i have watched your hvac related videos and its really good and i would like to know which software or the steps to implement digital twin for hvac system because we have a project on hvac digital twin so i think you are the one who can help me to answer the question and please suggest me some software related to hvac load calculation and digital twin software to monitor real time data using sensor and cotrol it using iot. Please response asap sir
Hi sir, does hvac engineer use ms excel as a skill?
Yes!
how about pricing diff between the 3 options?
Please see their website as the prices change and there are various packages for each software
If you have a rate going in being greater than rate going out, surely you have consistently increasing pressure?
That’s true in theory but in reality air escapes (exfiltrate) through doors, windows, and construction imperfections like wall seams and cracks
@@aeclearn and will that rate of exfil increase as the pressure increases inside the room eventually resulting in steady state?
@@SpaDerola yes
Is it necessary to be a mechanical engineer?

Hello Sir, As I am new to HVAC Design Engineering, As a Beginner HVAC design engineer and Draftsman, we are using AutoCAD for drafting locations of IDUs and ODUs and many more same we using for clash coordination also and now i think we must switch to Revit for above mentioned tasks. We are also using E-20 Excel sheet for load Calculations and Ductulator for Duct and pipe sizing. Thanks AEC for sharing such informative videos. You got another subscriber who will never miss your any update. Ok that's it for now hope success will always follow you.
Glad that our videos are informative for you!
Hi, want to explore HVAC Design. Can I connect to your linkedin?
Hi, where can i get the E-20 for heat load calculation?
hi are you frome Iran?

I am studying to become an HVAC engineer now. The pay isn’t quite as high here in Sweden but I’m still looking at making much more than I do now. Demand seems very high here. My teacher says there has been a shortage of HVAC engineers for at least the last 20 years so if I can make it I expect to get a job.
Your teacher is absolutely right about it!
You’re never gonna be unemployed that’s for sure
run away!
I can say all are same software from Intelliquip. As far as I remember all companies you named are intelliquip’s customers. So you presented a software with different interfaces.

I did data centre HVAC chillers and the particular company that i worked with paid poorly, however generally the bottom end scale is still well above average living wage.
lol that's consulting all right!
Hi I do have 6 years of experience in hvac Now working as a data center design cooling expert in India Any certifications which helps me to elevate my profile?
I recommend looking into certified energy manager certificate
Is there a place online to take the courses found in step 1 without taking the entire mechanical engineer course?
Yes, Udemy
My dad is a hvac mechanic, and I want to become an havc engineer, but I am not good at math. Do you hace any advice?
Basic college math, which is calculus, is the level of math you need. So, if you take a calculus course, then you know enough math to learn other topics of HVAC Engineering
@@aeclearn thanks for answering
Will becoming a Journeyman Pipefitter/Service Tech make me more valuable as an HVAC engineer? Is it worth the 4 years of trade school?
Having that experience will help you in understanding the overall work or project life cycle. Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Mechanics are the courses that you need to become an HVAC Engineer. So if a 4 year program teaches you hose courses, then yes, it is worth taking a 4-year program
@@aeclearn Thank you
