Sonata Pathétique - II. Adagio cantabile - late intermediate piano piece
This famous piece by Ludwig van Beethoven is a great one for all students of classical repertoire to master. It's not too technically challenging, and it offers the opportunity to explore a rich expressiveness through dynamics and phrasing. This is the second, and least challenging, movement from the Pathétique.

"Succession (Main Title Theme)" by Nicholas Britell - intermediate piano piece
Просмотров 3275 месяцев назад
"Succession" is one of the greatest modern television shows, and its score (composed by Nicholas Britell) is captivating. This is a solo piano version of the main title theme. It offers a nice challenge for the intermediate piano player. The left hand provides a nice introduction to stride technique. The right hand has beautifully intricate, but not too demanding, chromatic lines. The middle se...
"Barcarolle" by Charles-Valentin Alkan [early intermediate solo piano piece]

By ChatGPT: "'Barcarolle' is a piece composed by Charles-Valentin Alkan. Alkan was a 19th-century French composer and virtuoso pianist known for his technically demanding and complex compositions. 'Barcarolle,' Op. 65 No. 6, is one of his many piano works and is part of a set of pieces titled 'Recueil de Chants.' The term 'Barcarolle' refers to a traditional folk song sung by Venetian gondolier...

Dear friend I am so sorry about last night It was a nightmare in every way But together you and I will laugh at last night someday Ice cream He brought me ice cream! Vanilla ice cream! Imagine that! Ice cream, and for the first time We were together without a spat! Friendly He was so friendly That isn't like him I'm simply stunned Will wonders never cease? Will wonders never cease? It's been a most peculiar day! Will wonders never cease? Will wonders never cease? Oh, where was I? I am so sorry about last night It was a nightmare in every way But together you and I will laugh at last night someday! I sat there waiting in that café And never guessing that you were fat... oh! That you were near You were outside looking bold... oh, no! Dear Friend I am so sorry about last night Last night I was so nasty! Well, he deserved it, but even so That George is not like this George This is a new George that I don't know Somehow it all reminds me of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde When right before my eyes A man that I despise has turned into a man I like! It's almost like a dream, as strange as it may seem He came to offer me vanilla ice cream
Some men are born to live at ease, doing what they please, richer than the bees are in honey Never growing old, never feeling cold, pulling pots of gold from thin air The best in every town, best at shaking down, best making mountains of money They can't take it with them, but what do they care? They get the center of the meat, cushions on the seat, houses on the street where it's sunny Summers at the sea, winters warm and free, all of this and we get the rest
very clear thank you

[PIPPIN] Everything has its season Everything has its time Show me a reason and I'll soon show you a rhyme Cats fit on the windowsill Children fit in the snow Why do I feel I don't fit in anywhere I go? Rivers belong where they can ramble Eagles belong where they can fly I've got to be where my spirit can run free Gotta find my corner of the sky Every man has his daydreams Every man has his goal People like the way dreams have of sticking to the soul Thunderclouds have their lightning Nightingales have their song And don't you see I want my life to be Something more than long... Rivers belong where they can ramble Eagles belong where they can fly I've got to be where my spirit can run free Gotta find my corner of the sky So many men seem destined To settle for something small But I won't rest until I know I'll have it all So don't ask where I'm going Just listen when I'm gone And far away you'll hear me singing softly to the dawn Rivers belong where they can ramble Eagles belong where they can fly Got to be where my spirit can run free Gotta find my corner Of the sky
Also! Could you post more of the music? I'm really curious about your take
I love this show too! Can you talk about the use of leitmotifs in the theme? How do these motifs represent different characters or themes within the show? What characters to you feel most present in this song?
How do you achieve such a clear balance between the cantabile melody and the pianissimo accompaniment? Could you give me some tips on how to practice this balance, especially in terms of dynamic contrast?
actual gold of a video, thank you
My pleasure! I'm glad you like it.

there were fourteen blocks between her place and mine i walked those blocks every single day i started feeling with each p-ssing sign that she was living too far away i got to her place and said, “we’ve been together a year wouldn’t it be g*nius if i lived, well, right here.” i got one of her priceless stares, but said “honey, haven’t you noticed there’s all this sp-ce between where i leave my house and i see your face all this sp-ce between when i buzzed your door and then we embrace.” i must’ve flashed my s-xy grin ‘cause next thing you know i am moving in with her yeah, this is her apartment and yeah, it’s filled with all her stuff but setting up and squeezing in, that’s my department so if i move her favorite chair, i can get my desk in there slide her sofa to the right so we won’t stub our toes at night mere our two apartments into one and we’ll feel like we’ve begun oh! so i rip the tape off this cardboard box and lay my claim on a dresser drawer i say goodbye to those fourteen blocks now just imagine what lies in store the city’d gotten me down but that’s ‘cause i should’ve known you really don’t want to do new york alone the best thing i ever did might be saying, “screw it!” and getting rid of the sp-ce between me and the girl i can’t get out of my head all the sp-ce between the moment we’re in and what’s lying ahead i’ve been waiting for something here but now i’m rushing toward the future and i’m leaping clear of the sp-ce between
Anyone can whistle, That's what they say- Easy. Anyone can whistle Any old day- Easy. It's all so simple: Relax, let go, let fly. So someone tell me why Can't I? I can dance a tango, I can read Greek- Easy. I can slay a dragon Any old week- Easy. What's hard is simple. What's natural comes hard. Maybe you could show me How to let go, Lower my guard, Learn to be free. Maybe if you whistle, Whistle for me. I can slay a dragon Any old week- Easy. What's hard is simple. What's natural comes hard. Maybe you could show me How to let go, Lower my guard, Learn to be free. Maybe if you whistle, Whistle for me.
Thank you for the wonderful video.

Funny How'd I fail to see this little bed time tale was funny? I could cry to think of all the irony I've missed! What an unusual twist Right at the end of it Funny Who could see that this pathetic scene would be so funny Once you strain to find the grain of humor underneath Life double crosses with style Forcing you into a smile So it can kick you in the teeth Just desserts We can all laugh till it hurts At my expense I'm accustomed to working on "spec" I always pick up the check I think it's funny Who could top or make this comic op'ra more compelling You could weave in some deceit to even up the score You'd have us all on the floor That would be roaringly funny Sad enough my life's a joke that suffers in the telling Just another hoary chestnut from the bottom drawer I've heard so often before That I can't laugh anymore!

Hello there, awesome video! 😊 Which good electric 88-key piano with weighted keys would you recommend for a beginner/intermediate player? I was looking into Alesis Prestige as a bit cheaper variant and Yamaha P45 as a bit more expensive one. I really need some guidance on the topic before I make the purchase, so please -help! 😊
Thank you! That's a good question, and I feel it really depends on the specific needs and goals of the student. If cost is the primary concern, any full-sized, weighted-keys keyboard will do. We use low-end Williams keyboards at my school and they suffice, but the quality is admittedly low. I also have a Casio Privia which was fairly inexpensive and has a decent sound/feel. I also like the onboard speakers, quick start up time, and light weight-it's perfect for teaching class, doing quick rehearsals with singers, etc. (I don't think they make this particular model anymore, though.) If the student is serious about learning, wants higher quality/more functionality, and/or wants an instrument they can grow into, then I would consider spending a bit more and getting a nicer keyboard-the Nord Pianos have a great feel, Yamaha is a good brand too. At the end of the day, the best thing to do is go into a musical instrument retail store (e.g., Guitar Center, Sam Ash, Sweetwater, etc.) and try the keyboards out. The best way to find the right instrument is to get your hands on it.
@@vmavideos Thank you for the answer! I managed to increase my budget by a bit, did a bit of research and decided to go with the Roland FP-30X. Would you say that’s a good choice overall?
@@faaustad I haven't played this exact model, but Roland is a good company and I like their products. I think this'll be a great choice for a beginner/intermediate player. At some point, you'll probably end up like me with 8 or 9 keyboards in your possession. This is only the beginning. :D
