I used to deliver masonry material a long time a go on a ten wheel Pete and a champ towable forklift. The Pete had an aluminum frame and was kind light for a truck . The champ was pretty heavy. Anyways I learned after a few steep drive ways like yours to hook up the forklift on more level ground . Being pushed around is no fun .

Maybe positioning the load a little farther forward would have helped a bit? Also maybe a little bit of weight in the truck bed usually doesn't hurt.. also maybe check your trailer brakes.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Avoidable, yes but definitely a honest mistake. Everyone is bound to make one at some point. He could have done this same thing 100 times, but just kept bad a little too far just once and this can happen. Everyone always wants to point out “this is the problem” or “shouldn’t have done this” or “stupid for doing it that way” but everyone is bound to make a mistake or mess up at some point.

Let off the brakes and let traction get back to rear tires. All the weight moves forward when braking, accompanied by a tail heavy trailer, your rear tires had no traction, and the brakes on the trailer seem to have locked up just pushing the slide even more. At least gravel is easy to level and tamp.

I would've poured the dry cement in the frame an just mix it on the ground with that small of a paver🤦🏽‍♂️
