The misleading title description may be the oversight of the person who uploaded the interview, rather than Prof. Edward Slingerland. I really appreciated the detailed background information on his research shared in the clip. Great work, Prof. Edward Slingerland!

Without malice: I enjoyed your dissertation, but then again I wish to digress a bit. Let me indulge, please. Comparing the tones and intensity of colors between a painting and a televised comic strip may seem like an unlikely endeavor, considering that they were crafted for contrasting audiences during distinct historical periods. One was an artistic concept whereas the other was an entertainment figure. It is common knowledge that colors exist in our perception. Then we name them, and then we add significations to them. The color red is used to indicate the need to stop and the presence of danger. Yellow is often used as a color of caution, among other things. After that, it comes to designate or stigmatize people's skin tones or nationalities. Sometimes, we use words to describe and evaluate someone's character or behavior, like when we call someone "yellow" for being too fearful to take a risk. There are other instances as well. Colors serve various purposes, specifically on posters and graphic commercials, to enhance products. They are even utilized on medication pill boxes and the pills themselves. Some other times, they also alter human behavior. And this is where things get hairy (pun not intended) Remember back in the Seventies the Penthouse magazine? It was the main competitor of Playboy Magazine. Its owner and editor was Bob Guccione, who also was a photographer. Well, what Bob did was to artistically expose the pubic area on his images. Playboy was not brave enough to take on this endeavor. But the admirable Bob did it exceptionally: He expertly trimmed the pubic area and, brace yourself: He even brought in a professional makeup artist to enhance the labia with color. What were the color tones that were applied? Delicate tones of peach and cherry, elegantly interwoven with subtle hints of luscious strawberry. Aren't those the colors of choice for topping cake and ice cream? Historians suspect that that was the origin of the popularity and mass promotion of a darling, besetting sin: Cunnilingus. But that's another story.

The current administration is culpable in the population management experiment currently known as Covid 19. Dr Levine uses the term 'fascinating' a lot taking about Eugenics. I imagine those on the receiving end of some of the Eugenic policies would be less fascinated, and more outraged, assuming they weren't put to death in Nazi camps, or by US Doctors. Many thousands were denied their right to have children by spurious reasoning and racist views, or their babies were moved from a 'poor' mother into an institution or adoptive family as a macabre social experiment. At the base state is a human, and the negative psychological effects of Eugenics live on today in many thousands of people and families. Human kind never seems to learn its lessons.
