Maybe take off 2 block portions of the bridge and replace it with water as a quick escape, recover, and lack of Spawn Location besides the torches? I was thinking bout it myself but didn't test it yet. If it does work, you may be able to use lava a free burn on fall on the sides of the torch areas.
