    Thank you for sharing your assumption of the meeting, Guillaume. It was so engaging and made me reflect long after we all went back in our daily business. I came to my personal conclusion that there is an external independence which is defined by societies, constitutions, employment contracts a s.o. Finally, no matter how high the level of external independence conditions are, it is for me more an inner state of mind. It may align with your video when you mentioned the "freedom of fear". External things like drawing, writing, planning, meeting friends a.s.o. can bring me closer to that inner state of mind (today). The other day the same drawing or meeting with that friend may not create this inner state of mind, right? I fully agree that we have to continuously work on it since it is not a stable state. Nor internal nor external. What a wonderful group call it was 😊

    Thanks for this! Any suggestions on how we start breaking our main flagship service (marriage) into a smaller one (coffee date)? Do we start with something that will give them a quick win for their existing problem?

      Great question: Start with the smallest thing your ideal client would want to buy to fulfill their need, want, pain, desire, etc. For this, ask them in a market discovery call. You don't have to cut a large offering into small pieces. Rather, think outside the box. For example, if you used to selling big trips, don't sell just the first quarter of the trip. Sell the planning or just the map instead. I hope this helps.

    Oh wow this resonates so hard. I deal in a creative market where the creative entrepreneur is so fixated on making the sale that they skip a ton of the foundational steps. While one can get away with not having a business plan or a marketing strategy, it's kind of important to understand what your core offer is and who that core offer will appeal. My challenge is bringing the creative back to their roots which can feel like I'm slowing them down (I mean I am because the sheer volume of brand damage desperate profit seekers cause can take years to repair) but having a clear idea of who you are, what you're offering, and who, what, and how those clients want what you have is critical. Draw back with education or an advisory role, it's a lot of carrot and stick action - and it can be difficult to feed the client the veggies they need for the healthy business they aspire to pursue.

    This week I led a leadership Training and was able to recognize your exact description of the dance floor in a participant. From the balcony he formulated the following purpose and read it out with shining eyes: "We ensure that it is dry, warm, bright, safe and clean and that employees find a professional working environment in which they can develop well." Thank you for your metaphor of the balcony and the dance floor, Guillaume. I will use it in the future because it can help people, who are only on the dance floor, to recognize their purpose.

    Working for myself has allowed me to take a week off every 3 months as a requirement so that I can maintain my energy and quality of my output. On the flip side, I reward myself with a month off if I meet my financial goals. :) It allows me to spend time with friends and family, travel, and summer projects.

    Facilitate the flow, I cannot agree with that even more! My role as a digital asset manager really showed me the power of 'Digital Spring Cleaning'. I used to set aside a few hours a day for a week every Spring and Fall to go through my emails, hard drive, and projects to tidy things up. I really ought to stay on top of active project decluttering more often >.< Great advice! And as someone who used to do this for company wide assets, I cannot emphasize enough how important this is to do at an individual level too!

    I used your Strategic Narrative Canvas, which channeled my ideas and creative process into a holistic, structured and coherent narrative including an action plan. It was so super helpful. Afterwards I visualized my narrative with pen and paper, on Conceptboard and with the help of Midjourney.     What a nice mindset shift. I'd been outcome focused for years and honestly it was burning me out. Recently, I'd be considering smaller milestones - if only to keep my energy/motivation up. I had recently discovered that I get a little energy reward for visible tasks when they hit a done state. Ex: dirty sink full of dishes = clean sink with dishes put away. If I understand what you're saying, while keeping the example fairly non-business centric - outcome = clean kitchen. But output = doing the dishes. Or something like that. Already got a few business ideas that are less about making X profit per month, and more about producing a number of reports per day.

      Yes, that's a great example, Amber, assuming that a clean kitchen is not in your full control (because maybe other people in your household use it, or it's an outside kitchen or other factors that are independent of your output). But committing to cleaning the sink and putting dishes away is something you can almost guarantee to do 100% all the time. This task significantly increases the chances of having a clean kitchen.

    Happy New year Guillaume. Very refreshing and relieving. I have a plan on my Conceptboard, but I only wrote the topics, without any content. The topics count towards my goals. At the same time, I can always exchange them in the timeline in order to work on the topic that particularly interests me. The plan is therefore a reminder for me to discipline myself.
