I came across one of these completely rebuilt and the Crankshaft sheared at a main cap. The cap actually kept the crank in place and the Pistons/Rods/bores were unharmed. Sad story where the owner had spent a fortune refurbishing it. If anyone reads this comment and is looking for transom Brackets, flywheel and starter mount plate I have them on my eBay store. No my typical line of work and/or parts sales but the price was right.

Surprising amount of get up and go. My uncle has a 10hp yanmar inboard in his fishing boat and it chugs along, love the sound!

Never owned a sailboat, grow up and clean up your filthy mouth and MAYBE after some experience in life you will be respected.

You don't have a clue what you are talking about. You think diesel is MORE available than gasoline - lots of places gasoline is available and diesel isn't, there are no places for the opposite. Fuel economy on a small outboard engine is meaningless, most people use less than 10 gallons all summer. To substitute a hard starting, stinky and extremely noisy diesel to save$5 for the summer is pointless. You have a serious problem with an older person that has gone through all this and knows better?

you know, gasoline isnt available everywhere. diesel will do more work, on less fuel, run more hours, and it will run on any oil you can manage to dump into the tank. So yeah, go back to your sail boats and douche baggery. No one gives a fuck about you old man.

diesels aren't supposed to smoke if they're running right, it's got more torque than a 60 hp gas outboard, uses about a 1/4 of the fuel, and burns cleaner. so yeah, it's a pretty big step forward, unless you consider the fact that these first came on the scene in the 1980's....you fucking douche bag. I just looked at all your comments on youtube from the last month, you must be one miserable son of a bitch for the amount time you spend talking shit about peoples videos. get a life you old fuck

Yeah and diesel is expensive here in Canada too.You get fucked everyway you turn.The trade off might be running a huge prop using lower rpm.Gotta be fuel conservation somewhere in the stinky noisy mess.Coal oil fusion bio diesel would be cleaner alternative if the opec fuel market was fair I think.

Oh nice, what a step forward. A 27hp, 550 lb outboard that sounds like someone left a connecting rod unbolted and stinks of diesel fuel and pours out black smoke.

Thats right ,because Yamaha 2-stroke 25 hp have just 67 kg !

Got a sad story about a $10,000 outboard. It was the 27 hp longshaft. Oil change gone wrong. The o ring got stuck on the block, no one noticed it after we left. It ran 1 hour before it started chirping. 1hour on no oil! Friggin shame!
