Isle Royale 2017 Playing In The Backyard
Where is this?
I net whities every fall. Devil track is a great lake to pluck a few fish from.
Regulations in Minnesota state you cannot keep any other fish besides whitefish in your net. The northern we threw back swam away.
Great music….. BUTT, YOU are the problem. Learn to use all the fish in the net and stop giving the rest of subsistence hunters and fishers a bad name. The wasteful act of throwing that pike in the lake are pure ammunition for those that want to put your lifestyle into the spotlight. I’m respectful and tolerant of your right to fish but I have zero respect and it pisses me off when it comes to that kind of waste. At the bare minimum be mindful of what you post on here. Brutal.
The pike is not legal harvest friend. He is required by law to return it to the lake, dead or alive.
@@danfall1003If you’re correct with what you write then that’s really unfortunate. That may very well be the law and I wouldn’t be surprised one bit. Most people do not want to see any animal wasted like that. The OP should consider keeping it off the video unless they are trying make a statement. Regardless I appreciate your message. Thank you for posting. Take care.
@@r37l36 I am correct. Minnesota only allows whitefish as net take and the season is at the end of the year because it reduces walleye and pike bycatch. The big pike, however, know and understand the whitefish are in shallow spawning and they are very hard on nets. They rarely die unless the spin themselves up. The nets are also generally not left in during the daytime as the spawn is at nite and this reduces bycatch and net damage from pike. I net about once every 3 years.
@@danfall1003 glad to hear steps are being taken to minimize bycatch. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy hunting and fishing, so it’s upsetting seeing wasted game. I have seen at least twice where some of the older generation club pike and toss them back in the water simply because they are pike. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to explain.
@@r37l36 ya they go back, you can’t actually have a fishing pole in the boat when you’re doing this here in MN
Real shame to see that trophy pike hung up dead
Unfortunately the DNR rules say you cannot keep any other fish caught except whitefish.
Some really beautiful images in here. And some very unique, like the picture of that beaver-chewed tree stump! ...But that music was brutal.
I love all the water aged logs. 🤸
Me too! Lets go find some next week!
Beautiful spring waters ❤️
Thank you
Wow. Simply amazing! My stomach dropped when you were skydiving! And the bridges, I just want to hike them! So amazing!
So much snow! I love it!
Great video! At 3:36, there is an awesome-looking screenhouse- would you mind sharing the brand? Is it a Nemo or Kelty?
It's a Nemo screenhouse. Highly recommend it. Keeps the rain off you and the bugs. The screen netting is no-see-um netting. It's wonderful. No poles needed. You just rope it up. A little bulky, but worth it for canoe camping in the BWCA.
Rather be there!
Great camera work! Way to go, looks like you had a great time.
really nice video thanks for sharing. All gopro footage?
I thought this was the South Lake Trail, where the heck are you guys? Haha.
Super Jealous!! On my bucket list!
Fantastic video! You guys had more fun than the law allows!
Awesome.
Beautiful!
Very wasteful if that pike was dead. I keep decent pike to eat and it is also good smoked.
Luke Lizotte illegal catch silly
So beautiful!

real metis illegal catch; prohibited; might have been alive even
Love the music! Love the climb! Rock it!

My fear of heights just kicked into high gear!

O how pretty and this bought back memories of our time living up there. Thanks to the makers.
Wow, very therapeutic! Great to see the wild of your surroundings. Outstanding production and music too!
Very cool, Kelly- enjoyed seeing how it's done!
