Storm chasing in Oregon under a rare slight risk
On August 17, the cascades and cascade foothills of Oregon and southern Washington has a rare slight risk. (Last time in this area was 2019) We decided to head over there to try to capture some e nice lightning, but we ended up seeing Mammatus clouds, a shelf cloud and we also got caught in some heavy wind and rain.

No but I was going to ski there today.. luckily damage was minimal so they are opening back up tmrw. Sad though cause the lodge has tons of history and stuff 😢

@@Parker-ni7wq yup they are reopening already. They have the longest inbounds vertical drop in the USA and I think itll be open from top to bottom tmrw so thatll be fun to finally do.

The GoPro makes things look way less steep. This pretty much looked vertical in real life. Also it was the last run and my legs were sore.

There were some small rocks at the top and these were rental skis so I was being careful with them. That’s why I didn’t turn at the top. The rest of the way down I wasn’t going so slow.

Only reason I wasn’t turning at the top was the because there were some rocks straight in my path. Also, the GoPro makes things look wayyy less steep than in real life.
