The Juneau Ridge Race is one of Southeast Alaska's premiere trail races, and while conditions on the namesake ridge were almost completely obscured by clouds, the 2024 running lived up to expectations. This video was filmed solo, and I learned that three videographers is probably the minimum needed to cover this race in the way it deserves...maybe in a future year.

This is just a short film highlighting a moment from my ongoing relationship with my favorite shoes of all time.

This week traveling and vacationing with my family took a big cut out of my running and my filming...as it should. There was a little bit of fun exploration mixed into the trip, but I'm very glad to be back at home in Juneau!

This week was supposed to be about scaling back mileage and effort to match the training cycle of the beginning of preseason for high school cross country. Instead, I swapped out climbing for more time spent running at paces that are up-tempo for me, even if they're comfortable for high school runners.

This week was about finding out what it would even mean to share trail running experiences through video of a training recap. There is also some discussion of a month long goal for total ascent and reflections on being one year removed from a season ending injury. Thanks for watching, and enjoy your trails!

One of my goals for this channel is encouraging you to get out onto the trails for a run wherever you live. To that end, I'm trying to start a summer trail training series that can help keep me consistent in posting videos. This is a preview video, and I'm hoping that the main "episodes" can be a little more put together.

It's true that I do like talking with people about running shoes and camera gear, but I really want to make videos that communicate beauty, gratitude, or anything with more lasting value. I think the market for that is smaller on this platform, but maybe that doesn't have to matter. Thanks for watching.

Spring break got off to a great start and the weather held in a way that really highlighted the switch from calendar winter to spring. Point Louisa is where I go to make photos when I need the atmosphere to be more casual and most of the pressure to be off.

This is pretty much just a running video for the sake of making a running video, and I wanted to see if it was really possible to access the flume trail from Cope Park.
