Federer vs Stoliarov ● Doha 2003 R1 Highlights
USELESS play by Pete Sampras ,at this age of 30 years Federer, Nadal, Dojkovic were far better
Wished Andy kept that kind of killer instinct, playing big points, unloading through his career... idk.. coaches killed it, consistency over natural ability
The passing shot at 1:04 looks very familiar. Roger was taking notes
Boring players
Pete wasnt the player he was,he was staying near to the line ,he stay more far ,he serve all the time at his Roddick FH and his 2 serve was slow to petes standards, also silly mistakes, roddick played super but pete it was the superior player and his proved to the us open when he trashed him❤
Henman should have won.
what a pleasure to watch
Always found Roddick head straight down at his toes after a loss of point so annoying. He lost confidence in himself after losing to Federer in that wimbledon final. He had all th toold but the head was not there.
I remember when Hewitt used stare down and fiddle with the strings of his racquet when awaiting serve. I always found that annoying.
I didn't realize that Roddick had any wins over Sampras.
Roddick had a 2-1 record against Sampras. Had him here and at the Houston clay court finals. Then Sampras destroyed him at the 02 US Open, but Roddick was hurt in that match.
Had Roddick practiced his backhand down the line.. definitely could have won a few more majors. It was literally just cross court as hard as he could 😂 and slice every now and then
Mate, he even said i think on his podcast he didnt know how to hit a backhand until 2007. jimmy connors had to show him how to hit it lol
Nadal was lucky to face Henman later in his career. Herman was an absolute beast and would be top 5 today with that booming serve and beautiful backhand!
Henman is lucky to have faced a preprime Nadal. Henman would get spank by top 30 players like Khachanov.
This is young nadal. Still beat henman.
@@inwpakd5740 But Henman was part of the most competitive era of tennis, which featured legends like Roddick, Safin, and Hewitt! These guys today don't hold a candle to those guys from 2003-2006!
@@bradleydavis9502 sure.... lol. ADM is better than Hewitt, tells you everything.
@@TheRafaelBondWho is ADM?
they both would lose against current top players
They would both beat some current top players as well. They would be right in the mix.
bad day for the god of tennis
stiffler played tennis?
Hated Andy’s game. He just hit everything hard. No transition game at all.
And he would rush the net on questionable approach shots and would be out of position at the net.
@@EndoftheTownProductions his net game was quite poor for a big server. Not too different from Zverev. At least Zverev relies more on his baseline game tho
Later in his career he got better, but you are right
After a while he overspun his forehand. He only had the big serve. He should have kept Gilbert as coach.
Stopped hitting hard, later in his career
Sampras is a physiotherapist in 2010 😂
1:04 - watch and learn Roger. You're going to find this shot very useful in the future...
イストミン若いなぁ。 最近復活したし,また強いイストミンが見たい
Very few rallies... Mostly about serve.
Rallies are not mandatory
2001 was the year Sampras didn't win a title
Crazy to think that. I know Pete was dealing with injuries but more mentally checked out. So glad he ended his career the way he did
@@rs8247 i was hoping Djokovic would do the same after the olympics but i think he intends on playing until he gets nutted on by young ones every week.
Pick any year and you would be right about it being a year you didn't win a title...
2001 was a phenomenal year in Tennis. It marked the changing of the guard and ushered in a new era. Today's game has raised the level, but it's nowhere near as exciting.
@@kazamshah4543 Talent and play caliber wise the early oughts was considered one of the lowest points in tennis, post prime Sampras and pre prime Federer... Meddling players like Roddick, Hewit, Rafter etc all capitalized on the lul before the changing of the gaurd and they never won again once the competition started up with Federer then the big 3 kicked in and only a couple players had a chance to take a slam from the big 3 oligopoly...
How many errors from the line empires. All against Sampras.
Not only that but in the time break a lot of mistakes and non calls against Sampras
Pistol vs canon
Pistols are more accurate, consistent and usable in a fight :)
@@farid1406 14vs 1
Both players service is my favourite
i remember this match. Being a huge sampras fan i was so irritated he lost. he was starting to go down hill
Then Federer was going insanely down hill when he lost to Roddick in Montreal 2003 or was about to lose in Toronto 2004😂😂😂😂 Sampras played much better in this match than other matches he lost
Im a huge sampras fan too , that year 2001 was a diferent Pete , a vulnerable and without energy and motivation Pete.
@Luchon20082010 players have their day obviously federers situation was different but if you know much about Pete's career he even said he was loosing steam you can tell he was consistently not playing as confident throughout the year and started expressing he didn't have the drive that he used to. So your comment is just demonstrating your short minded ignorance.

Hello can you upload kohlschreiber vs isner us open 2013 please thanks
ATP Doha, normally is played before August, so Roger was still 21 YO, not 22.....
