Hello there! I think you’re doing everything right. It’s natural to feel frustrated and or confused when other parents turn down an offer to stay connected. But don’t be discouraged! Socializing can be hard in this day and age. I would suggest looking online for other homeschool groups with kids your son’s age. Maybe one group exists the next town over, if you’re able to travel? Here’s another possible suggestion that doesn’t necessarily involve exchanging numbers. You might offer to say: “My son had a really great time! We come to this park usually on Tuesdays mostly at noon! I hope we can meet up again some time!” Giving the other party a vague time and place for a potential second meeting is less forward than exchanging contacts. Maybe that can come after a 2nd or 3rd meeting when you and the other parent have spoken more. Or maybe the parent you do connect with knows about other local kid play groups or get-togethers during the summer months? Keep reaching out and stay positive! You sound like a lovely person to be around and I am sure your kids are too!

I completely relate, and my kid has spent many years in a classroom. I think the most success we've had was just by going to regular homeschool groups in our community and becoming friends with the other regulars. I would also argue that a classroom is not always the best place to make friends. My daughter never really clicked with very many of her classmates, and she was constantly distressed and distracted by the disruptive kids, which made it even harder for her to connect with people. It also doesn't help that we live in a low income neighborhood where there aren't many kids to begin with, and those that are here are often unsupervised and completely out of control (not the kind of people you'd want your kids to be friends with anyway). We tried private school and had similar issues with entitled children and parents who literally cannot relate to low income people. I think the heart of the matter comes down to people just not wanting to make the effort. My suggestion would be to start with local homeschool groups and go from there. If that doesn't work, consider starting your own group, even if it's just a regular park day. Advertise it on a local social media page and see who shows up. You might be pleasantly surprised to find that other parents are looking for the same connections too. Good luck.

if you can i would recommend exercising on top of weight loss prioritizing weight loss is good but you also lose muscle mass not as much as the fats your burning but doing weight loss for too long will eventually cut into your muscle in your body and can be unhealthy

And sadly this nonsense is allowed because the people who make the rules have the money to private pay if they run into this situation. It for those of us that don’t have an extra $5K that isn’t an option. If you do have to go to another doctor I’d maybe start with a dermatologist and see if they can help, or at least maybe talk to the insurance for you.

I am so sad and disappointed that even with insurance you are finding it so ridiculously difficult to access what is obviously the correct medical care for your condition. (I am personally sitting here in the US with ears that have been infected for 2 months. I have spent over $500 out of pocket to go to urgent care twice. The first time was 2 minutes of 'doctor' (actually a PA) time to get antibiotic eardrops and tablets, but the PA gave me no other instructions, such as keeping my ears dry when I shower or under what conditions to seek further treatment. I went to a different urgent care center a month later, where the doctor said I still have infection in both ears, though he could no longer see drainage, and my right ear drum is perforated. He prescribed cipro and said he was referring me to an ENT, which I was disappointed to realize seems to just mean he recommends I find one, as the discharge paperwork had no suggestion of who to contact. I now have an ENT appointment, but it is not until July. My ears feel like they have not improved since the 2nd appointment, and I am wondering whether to spend another $175 for a 3rd trip to a walk-in clinic. I have too many assets to qualify for benefits, I have not been able to work in 15 years (diagnosed chronic depression, but not on disability because the hearing judge thought someone whose mental illness makes them unreliable to show up could still work taking tickets at a theater), and I dread outliving my divorce settlement. Universal healthcare cannot come soon enough. Same for death with dignity for those of us whose psychiatric disorders leave us suicidal for years despite the best treatment we can manage.)
