Tragic story about Super Bowl V. The Colt who fumbled the second half kickoff, Jim Duncan, was shot dead 18 months later in his southern hometown when he mysteriously wandered into a police station, either stoned, mentally unhinged, or both.

41:45 Manny, the Miami defense never allowed a point all game, though. Just the special teams flopped on the field goal, thanks to butterfingers Garo who thought he was third string QB.

The Bears scoring 23 points in a game back then is pretty stunning in itself, much less them beating the 'Boys.

Im just watching this wishing i could time travel and be alive when 70's football was alive. Look at how tough and rugged the game was 😭. The rivalries were so intense and the players werejust nasty. The nicknames were sooo cool and The fans were awesome too. Madden smoking a cigarette 🚬 on the sidelines during the game lmfao. Can u imagine that today? The NFL these days is so weak and watered down i cant even enjoy it.q

Gosh I love these Documentaries 😭😢. I've watched most of them but not all. I'm gonna finish the ones I haven't watched yet but I can tell you I watched all of the 90's champions and most of the 80's.

First SB I remember watching at age 7. The following year I got a book for Christmas that encapsulated the first five Super Bowls. I still have that book. Didn’t know anything about NFL Vs AFL at the time. It was just football.

Great video. And fck trump and his endless begging for money. Get rid of that ad. Those Chiefs were loaded. In fact, they were probably more talented than the Packers in SB I but could not overcome the Packers' mystique. They really overcame the Vikings' mystique in a big way.. On Taylor's SB TD the Vikes' CB Earsell Macbee separated his shoulder trying to make the tackle. The Chiefs just lined up and kicked the Vikings' ass.

I have been to many Dolphin games over the years but I only went to one with my dad and that game was in November of 1972, deep into the season the Dolphins had lots of injuries on both sides of the ball, many starters out, backups played at Q.B., Larry Csonka did not play much, running for only 39 yards, Paul Warfield was out. You take away the three biggest stars on a team at the most important positions, at quarterback, running back and receiver, with some rookies in their place, you can expect a down day, especially since they had lot's of others out that day as well. That perfect team was so good that year, they had the #1 offense and the #1 defense but also were #1 in many other categories, too many to list here. Well, that day I was able to enjoy sitting in the Orange Bowl, watching perfection indeed. I was 15 and watched the best team ever. They won that day 52-0.

I’ve never seen so many players make such a big deal out of one SB than the 1976 Oakland Raiders. They have over blown own this one SB to no end as if they won 10 SBs since their inception.

Although I’m not a Steelers’ fan, this was my favorite episode of “America’s Game” due to the music score, back stories, & era. 1975 was one of the best years of my life. Btw, as a long suffering Houston Oilers’ fan we finally broke thru in ‘75 finishing 10-4, but still didn’t make the playoffs that year. The reason why? The Bengals finished 11-3 & the Steelers were 12-2. In fact, the Oilers only lost to 2 teams that season, Bengals & Steelers, finishing 0-4 against both of their division rivals…🏈

I had shed tears of joy running down my face after this win, as I had tears of devastation as a 13 years old the year before when they had lost to the Colts...As a fan of the team, I'd endured the Browns losses and the put downs, LOL....But These were tears of redemption and joy for the team I'd lived and died for...Laugh if you will, LOL...But I was SO proud of those Cowboys finally getting over the hump and being champions....For a fan my age, it was a sweet moment...

Not only did Randy Grossman fill in for Benny Cunningham, he basically played every meaningful for snap on offense after Benny got injured. They got Jim Mandich the former Dolphin as insurance, but all he did was play special teams. He probably didn't see 20 snaps on offense the rest of that season except for when Bradshaw was kneeling on the football.

I don't know who on the Steelers suggested drafting Joe Greene, or any of those guys drafted from '69 to the mid-70s, but if he (or they) were around now it would solve some of the current woes with the Steelers. But the 2024 draft went pretty good. Last year wasn't too bad, either. Hope springs eternal.

I wonder if Duane Thomas would have found a happy home with the Raiders, given how Oakland was a welcoming home for individuals who marched to their own drum? I have doubts because whatever latitude Madden gave them, they were still expected to respect each other on and off the field, not putting their own issues/drama first. On the other hand, Duane got the job done on the field, as Staubach commented, always carrying out his assignment. Would that have been enough to keep him in good graces with Madden's crew? After all, the slogan in Oakland was "Just win Baby!" Can we picture Atkinson, Tatum, Thomas, Sistrunk, Villapiano, Upshaw, Hendricks and Shell tolerating a teammate who doesn't say hello off the field, or would that have come across as arrogant, entitled, narcissistic?
