In this video, I show a couple of examples of translating figures in the coordinate plane.
Identifying Transformations
Просмотров 3746 лет назад
Here I talk about the different type of Transformations. I use tracing paper to help talk about what each type looks like.
Symmetry in the Coordinate Plane

Here I review equations of lines so that we can talk about line symmetry in the coordinate plane.
Point Symmetry
Просмотров 23 тыс.6 лет назад
In this video, I define point symmetry and show how to determine whether or not a figure has point symmetry.
Rotational Symmetry
Просмотров 8 тыс.6 лет назад
Using tracing paper, I show what it means for a figure to have rotational symmetry. I also show how to calculate the degree of rotation.
Line Symmetry

Using a sheet of tracing paper, I am able to demonstrate what it means for a figure to have line symmetry.
The Effects of Changing Dimensions
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.6 лет назад
Here we look at how changing a dimension (length, height, radius...) of a solid will effect the overall volume or area. I talk about how we can use the formula and what we know about order of operations to think about what that change will look like.
Problem Solving with Similar Solids
Просмотров 1026 лет назад
Here I show how we apply what we discovered about the ratios of similar solids. I talk about how to move ratios from one dimension to another, and how to use those ratios in problem solving.
Ratios of Similar Solids

In this video, I talk about what we discover when we look at the ratios of different measurements for similar solids. This is really an extension of what we learned in Unit 5 about similar triangles.
Solving for Dimensions

Sometimes you are given the volume, surface area, or lateral area and asked to find one of the dimensions. This will require algebra. I show two examples in this video.
Finding Areas and Volumes
Просмотров 1296 лет назад
Here I show how to use the formulas that are given on the Virginia SOL Formula Sheet. My examples include a cylinder, a pyramid, and a rectangular prism. I also do a word problem where you have to apply what you know about solids to find the shape and formula to use.
Introduction to Solids

I borrowed my daughter's magna-tiles (she makes a sneaky little cameo towards the end) to look at pyramids and prisms as a net., which is helpful in understanding bases and lateral faces. I also talk about what volume, surface area, and lateral area formulas find, which is important to understand when problem solving.
Equations of Circles

Here I show the equation of a circle and how to use it.
GOOD WORK!!
So good
Thank you so much for the easiest explanation!
❤
Thanks very much in my school my math teacher gave it as activity and as homework thanks very much.
Regular Hexagon 360÷6=60 Rotational Symmetry Order 6
Rectangle Two Lines of symmetry
Thanks may God bless u
This was so beautifully taught I appreciate this video. This is such a difficult concept to teach without the spaghetti noodles! Thank you! :)
Thanks this helped alot
Thx this helped ^^
Para sa perfomance task HAHAHA
Flawless explaination
Nice

You need a loud pitch and you need to say more information i will like
No es lo q yo buscaba Sorry x 20
Good v good fantastic
You deserve more very nice
Thnk u can know two lines 15&27 feet at 90 angel what will be the third one
good channel you deserve more subs !!!!! :) :)
wow, you deserve lots of more subs
Good way for finding order of rotation
thanks! This helped me with material science :)
why not equal too?
Why not lesser
yay
hi
@@madyngo1137 hi mady its joshua
yay
@@EPICKUNJ i forgot i even made this comment lolllll
Ok, you are a very underrated math youtuber, you explain everything very well and you know what you are talking about. Whoever disliked is just a spoiled kid looking for answers on homework cuz they dont want to work for it. Keep it up.
Really helped!!
Thank you
0:34 made me get a question wrong the star isn't actually point symmetrical
at 2:13 she said the star didn't... please read carefully before commenting
@@TaintedSoulKpopBuff read?
lmao i can't english either
it is tho
Do you have stupid?
Thank you mam it helps a lot....
Very nice practical explanation mam

thank u so much Miss
You explained it so well. Thank you very much.
Thankyou so much!!! I wish you were my math teacher. You explained so well!!!
wonderful, now its seems very easy. Appreciate it mam.

God bless you woman 😢
Helpful in answering our 6th grade challenge question. Thanks
as someone who struggles with math like none other, i wanted to thank you for explaining this so thoroughly. this video helped me a TON! thank you!!
