The ballet will be presented in three acts with two intermissions and will showcase the beloved story and the enchanting music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
Sleeping Beauty tells the story of Princess Aurora, who is cursed by the evil fairy Carabosse on her 16th birthday. With a single prick of the finger, the Curse of Carabosse condemns the princess to a deep sleep lasting 100 years. The Ukraine has every right to celebrate the music of its proud Cultural Heritage, Sergei Prokofiev was born in what is now a free and independent Ukraine, at the time, part of the Soviet Bloc. There are many Soviet composers who were born in the Ukraine and as one of them Prokofiev is much celebrated in the Ukraine, his music being rich in Ukraine folk music. The Ukraine Capital, Kyiv is one of the oldest cities in Europe and its proud heritage predates any Soviet influences. Kyiv was founded in 482, while Moscow was not founded until 1147. Prokofiev is one of many famous names forming a rich Ukraine Cultural and Historic heritage,
How come Ukrainian ballet support russian compositors?! Ashamed to them. It is so many foreign compositors who belongs to classic. How come in during the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian ballet still have this show?!
Prokofiev, the Composer of Cinderella, was born in 1891, in the village of Sontsovka, presently known as Sontsivka, in eastern Ukraine. The local airport bears the name Donetsk Sergei Prokofiev International Airport; in 2014, it became a battlefield between Ukrainian and separatist forces, and was destroyed in the process. Maybe grand, grand father Tchaikovsky came from some part of Ukraine, but Tchaikovsky IS NOT Ukrainian compositor. He is fully russian!
