Brilliant as always!
Another fantastic review! I have not seen Mufasa yet, but my daughter and I were planning on viewing it. We both loved The Lion King and consider it a beloved classic! After your thorough review, I think we will plan on streaming it when available. Throughly look forward to your reviews!
Thanks Tim and Noelle. I’ve been taking notes from this discussion. This is what I wrote: A true liberal education makes genuine critical thinking possible. True education brings one to the point of wonder and reverence because beauty and transcendence are a part of it. Critical theory is the undoing of classical critical thinking. It puts an end to thought by providing dogmatic answers. (A true Platonic dialectical discussion often ends in an aporia, leaving one open to mystery and to further inquiries.) Marxist thought closes the door to true freedom and brings one into a place of flat utility and determinism, where everyone is ruled by fate. (The collectivist philodoxy is that “society makes the man” ~ Determinism.) Repentance and a new life releases one not only from the fate of death, the consequence of sin. (Death also means the curse of the law, which is the fate of the sinner.) but also from the collectivist mentality. Repentance and a new life frees one from those merry-go-rounds. ”If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.
Simply beautiful ~ what an amazing site ~ well done🎉
Thanks Tim and Noelle ~ a fascinating discussion
This film as in sequel has bits of Paganism in it wow disney are you really trying to be really badly 😞.
WTF are you talking about? Peter Jackson’s adaptation of the Lord of the Rings exists. That’s as good as it gets, that’s the pinnacle of film adaptation. War of the Rohirrim was just plain bad. All the characters both protagonist and antagonist made decisions like they were mentally handicapped.
Love this ❤
Thanks for the feedback!
4:06 “Prince Fire-Ho”… I am dying! How do people making these reaction videos not bother to do any research?!
I'm pretty sure not many people see the Animals sub plot to be a reference to Trump or Republicans.... the story is about the treatment of minorities. As the film says, nothing brings people together like a shared common enemy. Like branding anyone who comes across the boarder as a murderer or a drug dealer, or by telling people that all Muslims are out blow up the planes and schools, when really, the truth is very different and people are not what you have been told they are.
You have a twisted brain....who are you trying to convince? Yourself? That's why this video is rated a -1 out 5
😂
Also, Communism is built on hatred between "classes" of people, - the owners versus the workers. Christianity is built on love.
Wicked is about not judging others based on their appearances and differences. It is about systems of oppression and discrimination against minorities, people of color, racism, sexism, fascism, and animals. Thank you for this review! I love this movie, especially the singing!
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
He oversaw the total dismantling of everything sacred in the church. He should be know as John Paul the Late.
I believe communists hate the goyim
Very interesting discussion, thank you both for it. Mr. Dreher, I just wonder, since you evidently had an ethical crisis over the Roman Church's mis-handling of their ongoing problem of "inappropriate" behavior with children, which evidently was a stimulus for you to move to the Greek Church (Orthodox), does the 1054 mutual excommunication between the Romans and Greeks impact you at all. I also wonder how you read the Official from Ethiopia in Acts 8:27-39, who evidently after coming to faith in Messiah went on his way for another 1000 miles south to where he was from. Where was the big congregation there that he would participate in? Or did he have a living relation with the Almighty through his faith in Messiah already? For me, I'm thankful for the Almighty's mercy on me, having grown up a non-theist reductionist materialist because of science, but the Almighty broke into my depressing life in my early twenties, back in the '70's. IMHO most "atheists" are merely anti-theists because they have no ability to humble themselves. But I also agree with your assessment that "atheism" is a boomer thing, while the occult in whatever form is the more recent spirit of the world that is flooding the West. May the Almighty have mercy on us.
Its because many of them were Jews.
Thats why the jews invented communism , another reason to hate of Christians
That’s just not right. With dictatorships and religions it’s just a fight between different authoritarian philosophies. They’re essentially the same. “Do what god/gods/supreme leader/ imam/priest/rabbi tells you to do or torture and death “ no difference whatsoever.
And they're working together behind the scenes
Communist governments dislike Christianity because religion is famously described as the opiate of the masses. It is seen as an obstacle--much like actual opiates-- to action on behalf of the proletariat. It stands between the proletariat and achieving a dictatorship of the proletariat. In that sense, religion, like opiates, demands a separate allegiance. It does not, however, preclude the existence of the state, nor does it interfere, nor is it incompatible with, the aims of states, nations, or nationalism.
this is so stupid, what about communism demands your highest loyalty be to the state?
…No one tell him
You should go visit China some day, it might help you find the answer
Nothing to do with communism or Marxism, rather totalitarianism or authoritarianism
@@joshjamieson1then name one communist regime that wasnt totalitarian or authoritarianism
It's literally a demand in communism, in every communist country that ever existed
Great insights!
Thanks!
Is that why the Democrats hate it so much I think it is
Love you darilingu
Great review!!! Keep them coming!
Thanks so much! Will do!
Thank you for this balanced review. As a non catholic it was interesting to hear your perspective even if i found some of the potential concerns a little medieval. I do appreciate that you were just pointing out some areas that some Catholics might have an issue with, which as a non catholic, i find a little difficult to understand. Because Elphaba is different from the mainstream, both physically and in beliefs and compassion for the animals, she is branded as evil. She doesnt fit into society, therefore she is a threat. The wizard, a showman and conman uses this to manipulate society, creating an enemy of the people in order to further his own personal agenda. Whether intentional or coincidental, there are clear comparisons with both political and societal factors in the US. It will be interesting to listen to your follow up review of the second film. I do disagree that the film is too long. I enjoyed the fact that it took its time giving the characters more dimension and building the relationships which are lacking in the stage version, and indeed in the original Wizard of Oz film that you mentioned. I anticpate that you will appreciate the exposition and character set up once you see the second part. I hope so! Thank you again
Thanks for your perspective!
I’m actually seeing Wicked today and doing a review on my channel! Thank you for this excellent review through a Catholic perspective! I will look forward to future content.👍
Absolutely! Thanks for your comment!

3:59 “same-sex humor” like when I crack jokes with my buddies?? How can humor be same-sex?? Please enlighten us
Please do more of these! This was a masterpiece. I found you while looking for some direction as to whether this film had good values. We need this critical view for what we consume
Thanks for the feedback! We will!
Christopher Hitchens has a lot to say about wickedness and the Catholic Church in the intelligence Squared debate. Reichskonkordat. Alter boys. That sort of thing.
