I tried all of those options. I can't lock the game at 60, but can at 30. This only happens with widescreen fix. Without it, it depends on the rendered resolution.

On Series S using duckstation standalone the game only looks good on native resolution. If u increase the res it looks messed up like in the video.

Be sure to allow dllinjector in your antivirus if you notice that you aren't getting widescreen anymore. And set the silent hill 3 folder to be excluded in scans. Now I got widescreen, fixed audio, and can use my xbox controller. It was a huge confusing mess to set this game up, especially with the antivirus making things more confusing for me.

This set seems to conflict with ReShade, i see error 2.0 appears and the game does not start. All I needed was VSync, this is not available in other mods unfortunately. And without ReShade, the game doesn't look good as it could. Do you think there are options to make work vertical synchronization without conflict with Reshaid?

I’m having issues with the actual patch. The game runs fine, I’ve tested it after first installing, and with the Audio enhancement mod, but when I try to use the steam006 fix, it won’t launch the DLLInjector. At first it was triggering my AV, so I added an exception to the injector.exe, but now when I double click, it’ll ask if I want to run, click yes, and then nothing happens. It’ll act like it’s loading something, but nothing pops up. No errors, no other windows. Any suggestions? I appreciate any and all help!

Ok, so I ran the DLL injector through VIRUSTOTAL. Right off the bat, it doesn’t look good. 41 out of the 69 antivirus programs that scanned the DLLinjector.exe detected it as a Trojan! It also does not have signature verification, meaning their are no details on who made this in general (all we know is that it’s from a user calling themselves Steam006) But the biggest reason this is so fishy to me, based on my deduction of the facts, is that DLL injectors are used to forcibly influence the behavior of programs in ways not intended by the authors, meaning if someone wanted to, they could make an injector file that could take control of files in you System 32 library. (At least that’s what I believe) Now those are the red flags. Now the green flags are that people have already used this before, over 16,000 on pcgamingwiki in fact, with 66 people who commented on issues they’ve had with antivirus flagging it and other bugs. Many of these people also spread to Reddit and RUclips, and the people commenting on this includes the author of the patch, who say that the injector is detected as a false positive by antivirus companies… Though to be honest, the author could just be trying to pass off as authentic by commenting, many of their comments to other people on Pcgamingwiki are generally unhelpful, and don’t paint a picture of an individual you can trust. They also joined PGW in 2018, and in that time has absolutely NO REPUTATION ACTIVITY on their profile. But let’s get back to the positives, those 41 out of 69 virus programs that detected malware? Well in virustotal, if you scroll down and look at the names they give the injector, they usually name it something along the lines of “Malware - Gen” or “Trojan.Bulz” or “threat - (100 confidence)”. The “gen” in “Malware - Gen” means generic btw. This means the antivirus programs THINK this is malware because of its behavior, but cannot attribute it to any known existing malware. And most of the detections have a label of “generic” or “riskware” attached to it I don't why, but the thing that makes me most uncomfortable with this widescreen patch is the way the program behaves. According to Virustotal, when you execute the file, it deletes registry keys within your computer. The registry keys all seem to be related to "Performance". According to HowToGeek.com, deleting or removing registry keys can cause serious issues, like deleting the entire windows registry will kill your windows operating system. So already this is a MAJOR red flag. To anyone who already knows about this, or has accessed the executable itself, please let me know, how is your computer doing? Has it experienced any performance dips since using this? What I'm asking is, are you running this with no problems? I have a windows XP laptop, and really want to play silent hill 3 with vsync enabled. My game works fine for the most part, only issues are the 4:3 aspect ratio and constant texture tearing. I would like to lower the refresh rate of the game to 30 fps or 30 hz if I could, but the program won't allow me. So far, I've found virtually no other solutions other than this patch. I'm out on my luck here. Can someone please just confirm to me that if I run this on my machine, that my laptop will be okay? I would really appreciate it! Until then, I'm stuck with the screen tearing. (I might repost this comment to other forums just to get an answer, don't know yet, but would really like an answer from another human being...)
