Bimbles With A Camera
Великобритания
Добавлен 4 янв 2016
Nomad. Restless when stationary. Travels in a van. Quite often found pointing his camera down at his feet. Trying to do what makes him happy. After all, it's already quite late in the day.

Geology Rocks on the Isle of Bute with the Fujifilm GFX50r (Ha .. see what I did there)

#IsleOfBute #Fujifilm #Scotland One of the things we love about traveling in Scotland is island hopping with Calmac ferries. In this week's video, and only a few hours after leaving the Isle of Arran, we are back afloat and heading across to the Isle of Bute. Never been before, and honestly never thought too much about it. I wonder what we can find as we explore this island over a couple of day...

#IsleOfArran #Photography #Fujifilm In this week's video, we have hopped on a ferry and headed across to the wonderful Isle of Arran. Quite often Arran is described as Scotland in miniature and I can certainly see why. Sadly, we are only here for a short while and it's even shorter when thinking about making images. Let's see what we can do in 24 hours. Hope you enjoy. PRINTS FOR SALE I have a ...

Nice video 👍
Back here again as I absolutely love this video……… and a X100v owner…❤
Thank you so much for kindly featuring my video. It’s much appreciated
Love the shots and location. You are doing the conditions a disservice yet you have handled them very well. Love the Black and white early in the vlog. Any advice re shooting, Vlogging or walking along this wonderful location? Thanks, F.
Why did you cut your sneezes?
Nigel I will miss you. Follow your heart, pursue your passion....you never know where it may lead. Thank you for all the inspiration, honesty and encouragement ❣️ All the best my friend ❤️
Ive just spotted this channel on the facebook page, sorry to see you are leaving, I guess I will enjoy the back catalogue, good luck with your photography.
Thank you
So sorry to see you leave RUclips. I've thoroughly enjoyed them all, from the images to the 'chats' and all the places you've taken us along to. As you've said, the photography is what is most important to you and, as someone who makes a living from their photography, that has to be the priority. I shall certainly miss listening to your musings but will still be able to see the images on social media. Take care and I wish you success in the future. Thank you.
I wish you well on your next chapter. Thanks for sharing your photo journey. Be well and enjoy the ride.
Thanks Mike … Keep well …
Nigel, you've been an inspiration, you really have. But at the end of the day, you have to do what is right for you and your loved ones. I must admit that I don't enjoy the photography side of things half as much when, on the rare occasion I try to put out a video. And the actual photography is what I'm passionate about too. It's been a pleasure watching your videos and interacting with you in the comments. I'll look you up on Facebook and hopefully we can keep some kind of dialogue going there. Take care my friend.
Likewise .. thanks for chats and the comments .. and for sure we will stay in touch …
Do what makes you happy. Enjoy and thank you for sharing.
100% mate …. Cake for the win :) Hope you are well ..
Sorry to see you go Nigel, you have been an inspiration with your honesty and your beautiful images. All the best for your creative mojo and I will be sure to follow your travel channel too. If ever you end up in New Zealand be sure to let us know, I'd love to buy you a coffee or a beer!
Thanks Stephen .. Oh man NZ is certainly one on our return list .. we were there a good few years ago now and loved it .. the diversity blew us away …
Gonna miss the flogs you've inspired me a lot, especially the mental health side, good luck with whatever your heart desires
Thanks John for your continual support throughout this journey …
loved your work over the last few years !! good luck and enjoy the wild Atlantic way !!
Thanks mate - and yes looking forward to finally getting to explore more of the home country …
Thank you for bringing us along and good luck for the future man. Happy trails.
Many thanks … and all the best to you and yours too ..
Wow, such cool rock formations.
It's a fabulous area .. one of my favourites in Donegal ..
Great vlog of a location I vlogged myself 2 months ago. It never leaves you down. You too got excellent conditions.
I've now been a number of times and thankfully conditions have normally been decent ... After this I explored the coastline a bit more and must admit that was a real eye-opener in terms of potential ... Hope you are good and thanks for the kind words ..
I think you were in 2 minds for this photoshoot as you mentioned at first - include lighthouse or not. My thoughts are that while you did include it it was more of an afterthought and does not have breathing room - just perched right in the very top right corner. I suffer the same when in 2 minds and often am not happy when I try to include everything.
Indeed ... it can be difficult to ignore the iconic when at specific locations .. thankfully later in the morning (not vlogged) I managed to point my camera at more interesting bits and bobs .. as always though a pleasure to visit
What a gorgeous place! Your images were wonderful...made me feel like I was there too🙂
Thanks so much .. it is indeed a wonderful place … especially during the big winter storms :)
Gorgeous settings....I favor image 1... Thanks for allowing me to travel with you🙂 Another bucket list destination
My pleasure .... some wonderful places out there ..
Arran is well worth visiting whatever the weather. Enjoyed the vlog and images. Take care.
Absolutely ... will certainly be back at some point ..
Hope you get better soon
You've got to explore more of the Northumberland coast Nigel! It's amazing!
Yes, been told that a few times ... out of season me thinks :)
You certainly got around in this vlog Nigel! Shame you couldn't have spent more time around the Northumberland coast as it is beautiful.
Lovely shots of Staithes. The traditional shot x3 and the village shots all great. A lovely part of the UK. Really enjoyed that vlog.
Thanks very much for your kind words .. yes a very pretty little village indeed ... Nice beer too :)
Gorgeous!
Absolutely beautiful Nigel....I agree, gannets are stunning, especially in breeding plumage. I wish I was there too! Thanks for the wildlife photos
Is the old adage "It's not the camera....it's the few inches behind the the viewfinder"?!
What an amazing trip Nigel! So many memories. I hope you feel the accomplishment your images reflect. Safe travels
The 'elephants eye' image is wonderful and I don't think many would have spotted it. Intimate images are sometimes the hardest to see when walking around, maybe that's where your 'bimbles and danders' pay off. I sometimes feel there is more to look at in an intimate image rather than a more wider view of a scene. Take care.
Hello my friend! How's things? I just wanted to say that as well as how inspirational I think your videos are, I also find them very relaxing to watch. Kind regards. I see what you mean, by the way, about the elephants eye in the grain of the wood!
Many thanks for your kind words ... always something to see even when the conditions don't favor the larger view ..
Great location and some lovely shots….even if they are wide angled.
Once again another enjoyable vlog from the Brittany coast. I loved the textures on the rocks as you shot towards the lighthouse. Take care.
Many thanks .. once again Brittany delivering on the coastal scenes :)
Hi Nigel, would doing a square crop vertical pano help solve the L bracket situation?
Yes indeed .... and in fact it was my kinda go to at times for exactly that ...
Looks a beautiful area Nigel. Some lovely images of those cliffs and rock textures. Thanks again. Take care.
From a health standpoint you would probably be better off with the cheese than the orange juice :D
Lovely area, lovely images. Looking forward to more from that area. Take care
Thanks 👍 .. Glad you enjoyed it ...
Well that certainly put a smile on your face 🙂
‘‘Twas indeed a rather nice evening … in fact a grand place to park up for a few days … shoot … run …. Eat cake :)
Ben Horne has a channel and makes a lot of use of the cold / warm tones in images. His videos are a joy to watch.
Yes indeed .. Ben's book is also wonderful if you have not seen it ..
Nice video. Sam Abell, one of the best Nat Geo photographers has an EXCELLENT video on RUclips and it stood in my mind when he said “bad weather makes good photos”. I highly recommend finding his video. About an hour of pure gold.
I'll check it out! .. thanks for taking the time to comment ..
Well, I seem to have gone from not watching one of your videos for a few weeks, to being only the third person to watch the video 6 minutes after you posted it! 😁
Nigel, I stumbled on your channel several weeks back when doing a search for fellow Fujifilm X series photographers. The first video I watched was when you talked about your struggle with depression. I suffer from bouts of depression and it just struck a chord for me so I watched some more of your videos and have now subscribed. I appreciate your style of vlogs and your approach to photography too. Your content is absolutely refreshing and I so appreciate it, keep up the good work and, thank you. P.S. I am a little jealous of your borrowed GFX system. That combo of camera and lens is something I so would like to purchase because I don't have a friend like you do letting me borrow theirs 😉
Thanks for reaching out and your kind words … I must admit I still pinch myself every time I pick it up :) then again from a mental health perspective even time out in nature with the iPhone helps :) Thanks for following along
Hi Nigel! Firstly I'd like to apologise. I haven't been watching many of your videos recently. I've been getting somewhat side tracked by other things. Life mainly! What you were saying about making a difference really struck a chord, because it reminded me that if we all concentrated on making what we may perceive to be a very small difference, all those small differences add up to a big difference. Hope you're keeping safe and well my friend and God Bless you. PS. I see what you mean about the rocks on the beach in Brittany! They do look almost like they're made of Polystyrene! 😀
No need to apologise … watching YT should be WAY down the priority list for everyone :) hope you are well … I can however testify that the rocks were hard as … well rock .. having cracked my old man knees on one :)
Hey Nigel. Going to be moving to London from Dublin next month. Looking at getting a camper van to start travelling. Curious how you deal with driving in mainland Europe with a right hand drive? Just roll on slowly? Avoid passing? How long did/does it take you to adjust? Any advice you can offer? Cheers!
Hola mate … long time no hear … you getting out of Dub ? So I think everything is fine with RHR in Europe … so long as you have a passenger I think … I mean its doable without but we have been in sone situations where I certainly could not have overtaken a slow moving vehicle in front as I had zero visibility … I’m sure the other bits are made easier with a co-pilot but as you say slow-roll and you soon get used to it … I was surprised how quickly I got used to driving on the other side when we were in Spain last year … so yeah, just the overtaking I think is the main issue ….
@@BimblesWithACamera Wife got a new job in London so we’ll be shipping out of Dublin the beginning of April. Such a shame that due to the pandemic, I never got to see much of Ireland. London is just a rest stop until we move to France in a few years. The draw of owning a French farmhouse in Normandy is too strong! I assumed the trickiest would be the overtaking. Going to need to rely on the co-pilot as you say! Cheers!
I love the 65:24 ratio as it’s very close to what the GX617 shoots. You’ve put it to good use and the aspect lends itself nicely to those shots, even if you are “losing” half the pixels 🙂
Yes, and of course the pixels are still there should I change my mind with the crop once I get back .. just wish you didn't have to keep the JPG when doing this ...
When’s Orkney & Shetland Revisited? Rackwick Bay anyone…. 🙂
Minus the midge :)
