I got back into quilt making (although can't hand stitch due to thumb arthritis). I have made caftans out of thrifted sheets. One sheet was a super high end brand with Egyptian cotton and it is so comfy. Keep putting out your videos! Again, you are an inspiration,

You can do it! Thrifting for fabric takes the stress away messing up expensive new fabric. I have a beginners sewing guide on my channel too, if you want to explore deeper 😊

"free" hunting takes time. And you might find a pretty garment for yourself for pennies on the dollar. Hunters don't bag a moose every time they go out. Quilters sometimes come home without cloth. That's part of the thrill of the hunt. Add it to your list of 4 or 5 stops you neeeed to make, so its pretty much free gas to get there. ))

@ Exactly it! Putting no pressure on it helps it become more fun. It’s like looking for Waldo, you know he’s there and eventually you’ll find him, but it’s the joy of looking at every else while you’re doing it. Honestly I love thrifting so much for that reason

@@berriesblue4302 yes totally! It’s a fun project and makes wool more wearable. When you look for a blanket make sure it has no stretch like the wool or it might sag over time

Thank you! 💖 It’s practice! The last time was a year ago so I’ve had some time to master my breathing and nerve control. My hand was still shaking uncontrollably, as sometimes I gripped the microphone with two hands, but thankfully wasn’t noticeable 😅

Haha thank you! I’ve experienced many, many mishaps over my time sewing, I’m finally in a place to accept them and not get too caught up with it. Although sometimes it’s tough when you’re hours deep in a project 😅 many projects take blood, sweat and tears! 😂

Hmmm yes I did say… tbh I add it 2 years ago and it’s not a tutorial, but my own journey in testing it out. I think I thought the ears were added somehow. But where I went wrong was using the right ribbed material. You’ll have much better luck with crochet! Or a thicker material I think. I hope this helps!
