Crazy cool. Do you still have it? Last video is 5 years ago.
Where did you find vin by chance the only # I find is on chasis
What is the overall length of the van?
hi why no continue the episode?
temp outside shelter sand blast the van
Do you happen to recall the item number of the wiring harness from painless performance?
I just bought a 1950 I am going to be completely restoring.
I had rebuilt some many 600 fiat it’s crazy back at home late 70,s in Argentina, what a great car
5:26 Those plastic lampshades are signs for the direction lights (blue or green) , headlamps (green) , and choke (amber) . They can be twisted so as to choose the intensity of the light they shed.
You can find almost anything of the Fiat 600, both new and used in Italy, Spain and Argentina.
This 600 needs a complete restauration.
Will there be another update video?
The pouches last a long time and were made by Cavis of Italy, supplier to Fiat at that time. As you know the system is just operated by a little push bulb that generates just enough vaccuum pressure to suck up fluid from the bag and spray it through the dispensers at the base of the windshield. Fully mechanical, no electric pumps :)
Did you abandon the project? No new videos for a long time. Would be nice to see more of the rebuild. I did one of these myself years ago and still have it....full restore.
:( looks as this poor 600 had a hard life at one point....I have a 600, hard to believe a car with 32-40 hp can be fun to drive, but they are.
You are lucky. You seem to have a proper water gauge. Normally there’s only a warning light.
If they run the engine without air filter it is bad news .....
The 1 -2 - 3 - on the speedometer indicates the maximum safe speed for first, second and third gear.
Great!! Will you be releasing more episodes on the engine work?
You are top class man !!!!! Regards from Portugal !!!
I have a 1962 fiat 600 and I really enjoyed haveing a look of what the inside of my engine looks like
I will be watching you, love it.

nice one! doing the same car:)
I used to have a copy of spares circa 1950s for this car. Two cams were available. Economy CAST IRON and for a few dollars more FLAME HARDENED!
When will the next episode be out?
I hope to have the next episode out within two weeks.
@@dangergoggles9111 what happened to the next video? Awesome information!! Awesome video!!! I have a 600 multipla

@@dangergoggles9111 ok.
Hello Danger Goggles, I've taken an interest in these Grumman-Olson Kurbside aluminum step vans as well. My question is; are the main body rivets aluminum or something else? I wouldn't think they'd be steel due to galvanic corrosion, but they could be stainless steel? Oh, by the way, do you know if there's a bulletin board forum for these vans? Thanks!
Hey Snarge22, thank you for commenting. I am sorry I haven't responded sooner. I've been away from RUclips for a little while. To answer your question, the rivets are 3/16 aluminum. There is a good community you can join over on Facebook called Grumman KurbSide/KurbMaster Owners Pre 1968. There are a lot of experienced Kurbside owners over there with a wealth of knowledge and very helpful.
THANKS@@dangergoggles9111 !!!!!! I appreciate your reply. These vans have something of an Art Deco / Streamline Moderne style to them that is also very appealing (besides the non-rusting aluminum bodywork).
Your patience is to be commended. Mine has a 1956 Ford 1 ton chassis with a "Big 6" wheel bolt pattern (6 x 7.25") and the original widowmaker split rims. So, I bought a complete 2000 GMC Savana for $440 (same wheelbase) which is cheaper than either of the two wheel options to replace the old Big 6 wheels and gives me modern suspension, steering and braking... plus a nice big and clean fuel tank. I feel a little bad sacrificing the originality.. but this will be a working van, so it's probably for the best. And think of all the extra time I'll have to strip and polish the body!
Mine will also be a working van in its future. I'm using the original stuff now to teach myself how to build a vehicle. I will eventually drop the body onto a dodge frame with the 12v Cummins so I can have more modern suspension and brakes. Along with a lot more power.
I thought the Kurbside just had a door on the right side.. and the Kurbmaster had doors on both sides.
It's my understanding that the Kurbmaster nameplate didnt come out until some time in the 60s. My van had the Kurbside badge on it when I got it out of a junkyard.
Very impressive
That looks like an awesome project ! I can’t wait to see the next video.
Awesome intro dude !!!!! 👍👍👍
Wow, I’m impressed. That’s a big job to tackle. I know it’s a work in progress, but what is your time estimate?
End of summer to have it polished and end of fall to have it moving under its own power. Next spring to have it the way I plan on having it. Then a few more months to do all the finishing parts.
So... I'm stripping mine. That green is most likely zinc chromate aircraft primer. I've got a gallon of PPG Eldorado PR-3500 coming this week to test on it. It should work.. it's the same stuff they've used for 50+ years to strip that same stuff on aircraft. (BTW, "aircraft stripper" is worthless.. and has a bunch of ammonia in it, which is bad for aluminum.. it says right on the can not to use it on aircraft.. haha). BTW, I'm over here in Cartersville and I'm at about the same stage as you in my project. :-D
Please let me know how that stuff works for you. I still need a good way to get the paint out of the cracks and around the rivets.
Awesome - pursue your dreams!
Sweet intro music!
Thanks man!
You're welcome!
Yeah man!
I love this!! Can't Wait to see more
