Lucky enough to see Family live.. 1971...Bought the single this is from with Strange band. Still play it regularly although I am a long way from those days. I'm still there.. 😎👍
me too. first saw them in 1970 at the Albert hall. my first concert , 18 y-o. never forgotten

Followed family and roger all my life from the 1960 till today. Loved there music very underrated band. Great to see him still doing it. All the best to all.
Wow. We used to see this band at The Half Moon. Brendan Hoban was a good friend of my mum's. A frequent visitor on a Sunday afternoon after the gig kicked out. On more than one occasion I found him crashed out on our sofa on a Monday morning on my way to school. I got to jam with him a few times, great player and drink with him many times. I'll raise the next glass to you Brendan. Thank you for the music. X x X

Doesn’t really sound any different, quite remarkable when you consider how most artistes in their 70s now sound in comparison to their earlier years. Always enjoyed a bit of Chapman 🙂

Not so. His voice has changed for sure, but he seems now to have come to terms with that, and the band is still excellent.

Are you for real?????? He sounds ok considering how old he is. Was you expecting him to sound identical to how he did in 1970???? People age you know. Reality check??? Hellooooooooo?????? Wake up you bloody muppet!!!!!! Lets see how well you can sing when you reach his age - chances are you can't fucking sing anyway.
And released one of his best albums to date : life in the pond . At age of 80.

I agree. They were best with Jim King. I lost count of the number of times I saw them in 68-70. No one could touch them live. Great memories.
They are still great in my mind today...
And the Shortlist so Great in the 80s, 90s, 00 and so on . I‘m Born 61 and I am The Shortlist Generation .

Absolute elite....nice version, regarding sax and guitar parts. At least, I like the ones from the late 70s/ early 80s better, as this one is lacking some energy. Maybe because of the missing background singers (who just BELONG to this song). In my world, he´s one of the Gods...easily outclassing tons of artists with a way greater net worth. Which is not be seen as a gauge for musical faculty, anyway.
@@terenceskill9526 The 1979 Markthalle concert is an absolute classic and is very hard to top ;-) Geoffs tone and guitar was on fire that night. maybe the girls had something to do with it ? ;-)
@@christianboddum8783 Well lots of things were maybe better those days - but I have never been to a Chapman concert where he was not giving his 200%. But a open air is always a bit different imho than in a club with a standing / dancing audience .
