I'm applying there for law school!

Im starting my junior year as an undergrad and I'm super nervous about applying to law schools because my GPA isn't great at the moment.. should I wait to apply and take a gap year so I can get my GPA up?

Hi, Kait, Don't forget that you are still in "study mode" from law school which, coupled with your intense BAR?/BRI prep course, will almost certainly get you through the Bar Exam. Have you decided when you will take the separate Maryland Law Component (MLC)? Did you know that New York requires newly admitted attorneys to complete 50 hours of Pro Bono work? I am glad you won't have to deal with that! Knock 'em dead next week!.

Here is a stress relief tip from a Gen X bar exam taker. If there is a lunch break during the exam sessions, you mayl hear people talking about their answers to particular questions. You might ask yourself whether they are taking the same exam as you are. Tune it out and rely on your comfidece

Rosie will help you study. My two cats helped me study by knocking over pens, pads and other necessities. Remind Rosie that she cannot walk or sleep on your laptop keyboard. With tnis in mind, you will pass the Bar and Rosie will stand next to you when you are sworn in.

You are very lucky Md adopted the UBE. I am a Gen X Guy who struggled with the old format NY Bar Exam which required you to study 25 subjects. It has since been replaced by the UBE and the rate of alcoholism among recent law grads has dropped to near zero.

I studied for the Virginia Bar with BarBri bar prep as well…best bar prep hands down. Your apartment is super cute 🥰 I’m currently job hunting and doing tons of interviews…got sworn in as a new attorney for the Commonwealth of Virginia👍🏾. I will be a 1L in the fall 🎉 thank you for these tips! I'm also super easily distracted by a laptop- thats one of the reasons Im going to give handwritten notes a try. That's what I did all through undergrad and it served me well! 😊
