New voicemeeter update bring better MIDI support including Feedback (FF) function. you will have LEDs working (remember to set your LED lights on controller software to work on "External Mode", That's a function of my Korg nanokontrol 2 too) and if you have motorized faders. voicemeeter will move your faders too.
insane vid thanks!
I've a question, i already know how to use macrobuttos to control voicemeter, ive a korg midi controller, but my doubt , can i use a midi device like this or another one with programs like hidmacros or another like this one (i use that with old keyboards) to control programs like obs, photoshop or something like that to simulate a keyboard? Cause if i can do that i can have a streamdeck and audioconsole at the same time
Oh god, more VB Audio the main reason I bought a Go XLR. I hate that software, it crashes way to often while streaming & the quirks made it not very accessible and more annoying than helpful.
These days you can get "Multi Mount" like systems from brands like Smallrig and Ulanzi. Both seem to be really good quality.
Virtual audio routing is not reliable
Thanks a lot man!
Awesome tutorial! I was wondering if you can make a tutorial to integrate the Akai APC Mini with OBS to control scenes.
Hi! Will this work with the new version of Akai APC Mini? This one: "Akai APC Mini MK2"
Been waiting 6 months for an APC mini. It is FINALLY coming in tomorrow, pretty hyped to get testing it out with voicemeeter. I really hope they everything still works just fine with the MkII
Hi! Where you able to make this tutorial work with the new version: Akai APC Mini MK2?
@@serranomorante Yes and No. I got it working but I didnt use the method in the video. I used the M.I.D.I Mapping under the MENU tab on Voice Meeter.... Once you are in M.I.D.I Mapping click learn on whatever you want mapped. Then hit the button on your MIDI controller you want bound to.... To change the color use the F next to learn... LEFT click 2 times to change it to FF then right click it and input numbers into the FEEDBACK ON and OFF sections.. I use 25 (green) for on and 5 (red) for off... Try different numbers for different colors. Hope this could help
@@FindtheShrooms Thank you! I was waiting on your response before buying the MKII 💗💗
@@serranomorante glad I could help. I'm VERY happy with how it has worked out for me controlling voice meeter. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to control sliders and sends with physical button pushes. Its so nice to be in game and be able to have full control over all my sound without having to tab out.
Hey just curious. I was wondering if u are able to record something. Play and restart it instantly like the go xlr?
Yep really cought me off guard with headphones
There is a program called Midi Midi mixer that allows you to configure stuff like this super easy with any Midi controller, and even use with OBS.
Perfect!! Just what I needed :) Thanks for the info!
really interesting!!!!!!!! I wish i saw this video before I got my goxlr and stream deck
awesome video, leaned a lot from this!
when i click on my midi controller nothing appear in M I D I implementation
Voicemeter is just too complicated to use.
It's not complicated at all... You just need to put some time into it just like anything else. What makes it complicated is the countless youtube tutorials out there giving horribly false information about Voicemeeter. (not talking about this video it has great information. Although the information will not work with the new AKAI APC MINI.)
why is your intro 6x louder than your voice?
I agree, I had to skip the intro. But my ears still hurt!
THANKS!
have they updated something because i lost all of my map and i think its changed how the lights work ? every time i try to launch a program via the macros it the macro page crashes?
Noob
the idea of using a MIDI device and the mapping is really handy, but I was hoping that when I play it that it can output as my microphone to use as a soundboard that other people can hear... it defeats the whole purpose if I just wanted to play sounds cause I can do that in ableton, is there any way around this or is that all it can do?
Sadly the akai apc mini isnt longer in stock... have u an alternative sugest? like your way of explaining, an the idea u presentet
Unfortunately Voicemeeter has never worked properly in my case. I've tried in the past and I've tried it again the other day, maybe it's because of the interface drivers, but I keep having issues with either crackling or low volume or the noise gate. I'd love get it working mainly for Discord and games so I can apply effects to my voice and have sound effects or music play through the virtual line in addition to my voice. In case you wanna know, this is my current setup: XLR Mic -> XLR interface Interface -> powered speakers Interface -> headphone amp -> headphones This allows me to to have three output devices simultaneously with individual volume control without having the need of unplugging something. That way I can drive my DT 1990 Pros using the Schiit Magni 3+ amp, plug my InEars into the Behringer UMC204HD Interface headphone jack AND turn on the speakers if I want to. I have thought about getting a GoXLR Mini, but I'm not sure if it's worth the upgrade for something other than streaming.
WOOHOO thanks I want to try this with my midi Pad I hope it supports it!!
VoiceMeter is terible, it caused me so many problems including bricking my old USB-Mic. It was the reason why I upgraded to the GoXLR. The big advantage that the Streamdeck has is not relaying on Midi to controll stuff so you can hook up as many as you want while Midi has only so mayn channels.
How it can be better than GOXLR? Maybe the streamdeck, ok, but GOXRL? Where is the interface for your microphone with up to 60dB of clean gain with Midas preamps, microphone settings with eq, deesser, noise gate, etc. Where is the power to plug this into your console, if you have gaming and streaming pc running into GOXLR you are done with audio, doesn´t need anything special and more. This is just skeptical and kind of nonsense
Serious sam?
this is for freaks like us with time and nerves - not for normal people. they buy go xlr and co for "mic in, headset in, power in - ready to go!" :-)
Thanks for sharing this, specially code examples for the Macro Buttons in Voicemeeter. Opens a door I was looking for. :-)
very useful video for who have this apc mini like me, thanks for it. i would want to know, how to tell the program that use last state lights and buttons pressed? is possible? i'm refering when you close all the program disconnect or shutdown pc, and then initiate all the stuff
The difference in volume between your voice & the intro music - is ridiculous.
then stream deck is beter because voicemeter and audio called has only cause me problems
Yeah i tied voiceometer used it for years but the goxlr mini is the best upgrade i ever did.
I am using an AKAI APC40 MKii and the LEDs will only stay illuminated on the MIDI when the corresponding MIDI command is sent from VoiceMeeter's Macro Buttons. When I press the button on the MIDI, the button ceases to be illuminated when I release the button. I also have mine programmed for green=unmuted, red=muted. Works fine when commands are sent from VoiceMeeter but not when pressed on the MIDI itself. Any suggestions?
Can the buttons be any rgb color or only a few precoded?
any rgb color on the AKAI MINI and APC40 MKii. Not sure about MINI, but MKii has a different color for all values between 01-80.
@@assembly2593 TY. I have ordered a mini, I hope it's flexible on the colors but for that price I can't complain if it ain't.
@@LuizigenEddy Enjoy! I was able to find a color palate with the MKii codes on google images. I'm sure if you dig enough you'll be able to find the correct codes for the Mini.
There is a streaming software that supports direct MIDI control so you don't have to send keyboard shortcuts that might interfere with other things. And you don't have to use the macro buttons for that you can if you want. I don't have a controller so i use my surface tablet with macro buttons then i send MIDI commands over the network to my main PC to trigger things in Voicemeeter and in the streaming software. I mainly do streams and live events for companies and i'm thinking about starting streaming myself. Love that you made a video about this as i think people should be more aware of this stuff it takes a bit of time to set up but you can do pretty much whatever you want for a fraction of the price and you will learn audio routing and mixing in the process. Some friendly critiques the video could use a bit more structure and with that you can lower it to be probably around 10 min. Anyway good job and keep it up.
Can I open programs as the elgato stream deck do?
Yup, he shows how to do it in the video.
Just bought the GoXLR and already have a streamdeck - and have been using potato for years now; then I came across your video; brilliant! Have an Akai on the way!
You forgot to cover the most feature that everyone likes which is sampling. Tbh main reason im looking for cheaper alternatives
if you can put i mic in this apc mini it would be sick !!!!! thanks for this review now i really know what to do ;)
Strange comparison, the whole point of a Stream Deck is to have haptic keys with a visual feedback. Nothing without both of them can replace them even if not everybody needs it. Its just a different thing.
exactly
If you simply can’t afford it this totally makes sense, however the goxlr and the stream deck are pricey for a reason, they’re so convenient, other software can do things similar to them but not as good or as easy, you can get a macro keyboard instead of a stream deck but setting it up is much more tedious and annoying, if you can afford either or both, I recommend both, but great vid 👍
Sometimes you have to settle for tedious things to save money.
I've worked with macros in voicemeeter, I also have a stremdeck XL (with the VM macros programmed into the SDXL with the VM extention). The stream deck is worth it in convenience alone, not to mention the support. Generally, you get what you pay for. Just save for the stream deck and save yourself time.
I was looking for something to control different app volumes and came across this video. So I ordered one of these units 😁 Now my questions is, can we program a single button to launch several apps at once? For example, I’d love to press 1 button which would launch iRacing, Crewchief, SimHub, Truedrive, VRS, Trading Paints and Discord all at once and save me from having forgotten to launch something?
The press can fire a custom autohotkey script which launches all them Programs
sweet:)
OMG this is crazy!!! So, I can use this on any platform? Like streamlabs and such. Also is there a way to not bind any key in the board and just bind the kind in the mixer to the stream app or macro? Or only with a software for that?
I have a few different pieces of NOVATION LaunchGear and plan on seeing how I can integrate them better for other applications and functions. Thanks much.
Could I configure a Maschine MK2 to do the same?
You got a new sub! Thank you 👍🏼
