This is a short 60 second time lapse capturing the passage of Hurricane Milton over Cocoa Beach, Florida. I used a GoPro 10 Camera taking frames every 4 seconds. The camera was pointed north and one can see flashes of lightning and perhaps even transformers failing. The hurricane was a category 1 when it passed over us.

    So the sonic booms happen without the ignition of the engines just because of the pressure waves? Wow

    • @astrogeol

      The sonic booms occur when the boosters slow down below the speed of sound. This event occurs at a high altitude and it takes a considerable length of time for the pressure wave to reach us on the ground.

      So you did not hear a 2nd boom after the rocket sonic booms? Do you believe its possible for a Falcon rocket to shake the ground over 60miles away? That's what I'm hearing from some people, unless it was something else. It was at 1pm when people reported hearing a boom some 50miles away but it was not a double clap they say. I'm aware sound travels 1 mile in 5secs. so it would of taken 10min or so. So the timing seems to match the distance where reports are coming from.

    • @astrogeol
      @astrogeol 8 лет назад

      No, there was only one double clap heard from my observing site at the NASA Causeway. I saw another video on RUclips from Merritt Island and there was a significant delay for the sonic booms to arrive at that location but not 10 minutes.

    • @EnigmaSeeker2012UAP
      @EnigmaSeeker2012UAP 8 лет назад

      Ok well, there must of been another boom which was much louder and heard over 40 miles north of Orlando. I think it was a meteor explosion coincidentally happening around the same time as the rocket landing. I'll be uploading a video about the incident. Space X has landed their rockets before and caused sonic booms but it did not shake the ground over 60miles away. lol It didn't shake the ground where you were, right and you were within 5 miles.
