Exploring The Worthington Glacier
Просмотров 1321 день назад
Hope and I spent a summer day off exploring the south terminus of the Worthington Glacier. The cave is located near the outflow stream. The waterfall and seracs were higher up the glacier on the south end. It was a great way to spend a morning and do some easy summer climbing.
Gulkana Float From Paxson Lake to Richardson Bridge
Просмотров 83621 день назад
A recap of our almost full descent of the Gulkana River. We used the BLM guide to sourdough and found it to be helpful with orientation for the upper section. We spent the night at Paxson Lake Campground and got an early start to avoid the evil wind. We ran at 1660 cfs and felt that was the minimum water level for an Otter with three people. Paddles helped power through the flat water slog thro...

Ice Climbing on the Valdez Glacier

Hope and I spent a spring day climbing on the Valdez Glacier and on the ice bergs frozen into the glacial lake. We found this awesome Moulin and although it wasn’t the hardest lead it’s definitely my favorite pitch I’ve ever lead.

Matt, Tristan, and myself climbed Mt. Massive in Oct. when I was in CO peak bagging with everyone. Due to some upload issues I wasn't able to get this one out with the rest, but alas, problem solved.
Exploring Roatan, Honduras

I escaped Alaska’s Arctic air to Palmetto Bay and the West End of Roatan, Honduras this March. We enjoyed snorkeling, hiking, new foods, and mostly not waking up to -40* every day.

Gulkana River Tomfoolery & Fish
Просмотров 5599 месяцев назад
Andrew, Ignats, and myself went out for an early season float on the Gulkana River from Sailors Pit to the Richardson Bridge. Although a short float at only around 6 miles we took it slow, played in some new water and camped on an island about half way down. Fishing was slow, but we all had a good time anyway.
Jet Boat Trip - Tazlina, Copper, Klutina
Просмотров 1669 месяцев назад
This years jet boat launch was met with a new set of challenges. Low water levels due to the cold, late spring forced us to launch the jet slightly out of the way. We launched out of the public access site on the Tazlina River Richardson Bridge access and went downstream to the Copper River where we went downstream to the Klutina River. Just over a mile upstream of the mouth we stopped and tied...

Great stuff! You've convinced me to give it a try. How were the bugs?
Give it a shot, it’s a great float! Luckily the bugs were basically non-existent, making for many raft naps and relaxing meal times.
Great video thanks for sharing the float

It was a real treat. We usually are on the Gulkana every day until Klutina opens and that’s the first one we’ve picked up.
Fun way to capture Roatan island vibe with the local drum beat!!
You really captured the untamed beauty of Roatán. Well done!

terrible way to cook fresh salmon...common' man...use a grill the way it's supposed to be used.
Ok..Catch a Sockeye, video cooking it, and show me the way then. 😉
@@4TechRollToll Hee hee...don't know about catching a salmon...however, a little olive oil on both sides...season with favorite seasoning...grill skin side down for a very few minutes...then the flesh side...flip to skin....remove after 6-9 minutes. Then, and only then, you can use your butter infused dill sauce. S'd and thumbs up.
Oh, use a grill not a big frying pan...add some wood chips for a little smokey flavor. Cheers.
Alright, I appreciate the advice, I’ll give that a shot soon! We have a regular grill next to the flat top. Thanks
I don't know i never liked the taste of Sockeye Salmon.
Try my recipe. They’ll be callin you Sockeye Joe by the end of the potluck or your money back! Guaranteed
@@4TechRollToll i like my fish raw with some soy sauce and some Wasabi.
Odd question but can you swing streamers on a heavy fly rod for these kings?
Legally speaking it would be allowed and both myself and clients picked up Kings swinging Russian River Flies for Sockeye, so it is possible. I think swinging Roe would be significantly more effective.
Sweet, a Solstice run ! Are you boyz in the campground by lower bridge or where ? I gotta be there mon and tues on my way to Fbks from Big lake. I want some Chrome Copper Sockeye. My timing should be perfect. Trapper scotty,Alaskan

Nice vid. So the reds r in at the klutina, I need to head down there this weekend lol. Is there a lot running through what about camp sites. Full ? Thx bratha, I remember last yrs vid, luv the way you prepared it.
Thanks man!! Glad you enjoyed! Cmon down! Campsites are filling up for July, but there’s definitely some open sites still available! Reds are running and we’re seeing stronger pushes by the day right now.
I would bleed my catch well before processing.
I definitely would recommend that as well. I had landed that fish about 60 seconds prior to cutting it, for demonstrative purposes, and it hadn’t really bled out yet.
That is a whole lot of meat left on that spine brother Cut the head of first and I guarantee you will be left with mostly bare bones
Is this right now or last year
Fish was caught yesterday on Sunday, June 11th of this year.
@@4TechRollToll what were you flipping. I'm new to fishing these rivers.
@@trapperwyatt we’re flipping a small yarn fly or Russian river fly under approx 2’-3’ leader. Our leader has between a half OZ and ounce of lead on top of it. Many other ways that will work just as well as the other too. ADF&G posted an instructional video on the Klutina that should help bring you up to speed as well.
@@4TechRollToll ok thanks

No gloves? God damn.
Such a fish mill is also very interesting
Some brief footage from the hatchery out Allison Point in Valdez, AK. Due to tides the fish were out, but it’s a good look at what their current state is and highlights some of the wildlife other than salmon that surround them. ruclips.net/video/vyKcDeqwXSU/видео.html

@@4TechRollToll in fact you are right my late parents once went to ada and that also looked very interesting. I have a salmon artwork from there. But they said salmon swimming upstream into their birth ground and their death was impressive. Totems and Wood mills and whales we don't have all that.

No illusions necessary with these hogs!!
Jedediah W. On my wife’s iPad. This is beautiful to see, I worked a season for this character years ago. I don’t even remember the year but it was a great experience, learned a lot, had a lot of fun, and met a lot of amazing people, I just wish I’d been a little more mature and not played as much. My 13 and four-year-old daughters surprise me by how often do remind me that I said we would go back someday. Last very interesting fact about that trip, I am and always have been the biggest dog hater there is, I don’t like them, I don’t touch them, and definitely don’t want touched by them but they had a I how many think Scottish terrier named Sica and that is still the only dog that I have ever liked and definitely let’s sit in my lap. My family has a picture of it and They’ll never let me forget it.
That’s awesome man I’m glad you found the video. We’re all meeting up in 3-4 weeks so I’ll ask them about ya. Hopefully we see you and your family up there one of these years! ADF&G did just release the early predictions for copper river valley and it’s looking like it’s going to be a great year already! Tight lines
Yeah, why not. Its doing its Job. So its nice. Can you tell where you got your camera from? It has a Kind of fish eye perspective or...? Its cool. Thanks.
Thanks! I filmed this (and pretty much everything else on my channel) with a GoPro 7 White.
YT suggested this video to me. The landscape is cool. And the color of the sea.
Glad you found the channel, Richard. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a super unique, scenic environment. If you’re ever in the area it’s a cool place to check out.
Fished all of those same holes besides the one where the guy was on shore
That one was Bear Bait. About a mile up from power line. Making the hike up this season?
Sweet Vid🙌checkout our boats for what you do, made in Canada🤙
Thank you! Look like some solid boats!
My 2010 transit connect had oil in all 4 spark plug holes too. It was a valve cover gasket, $12.00 part on ebay and an hour to fix, with the help of RUclips videos.
Wish I had your luck. Unfortunately cylinder 2 was operating at >20%. Could’ve had exhaust valve changed and head remachined, but that was a 3 week turnaround. It also happened mid climbing season so I only cared about getting back to climbing ASAP.
Is that a coho of king?
All kings in this video.
@@4TechRollToll ya thought so. The pinkish color on them is a little different then what you see on the great lakes
@@reeloutdoorscanada Dont quote me on this 100% but I want to say the pink you’re seeing has to do with a shrimp or krill heavy diet and that’s what gives them that coloration. I grew up on the PM and Manistee so it’s kinda funny because I had the same thoughts when I first saw the Alaskan Kings.
@4TechRollToll I know what they eat can effect their meat coloration also I know depending on the color of the water some trout can change colors slightly
@@reeloutdoorscanada No 2 are the same, that’s for sure haha

@@timothymoran8842 right on, that’s pretty sweet, I honestly had no idea. Occasionally we will get well known entertainers or personalities come to the outfitter and in my experience they are always very humble and just like all the other campers and guides.
