      Thanks for watching! Glad to know that you found it helpful! We booked our Cachi and Cafayate tours from one of the tour operators nearby the main square of Salta (Parada Norte Turismo). I think almost all the providers more or less have the same tour, so just hit up a few shops and see which one has the best vibes 😅

    I love Jocelyn's review of the campsites - it might be my favorite part of these videos! Thank you for sharing your experiences - I'm heading there in a few weeks and I am now adding bug spray to my packing list! ;) Is there anything you wish you'd packed that you didn't have with you? Also, is there anything you packed that you didn't end up needing? Thanks again for these awesome videos :) We're doing the O, but starting at Paine Grande (doing the W first, ending with the glacier).

      Thanks for watching, and glad to know that our videos are helpful! Our gear setup was pretty dialed in - but one thing we wished we knew is that almost all the campsites have food and snacks you can purchase, so you don’t need to carry too much food at the beginning. Let us know if you have any other questions, and enjoy your adventure, it will be amazing!

    Arroz con Mariscos isn't fried rice, so what you ate isn't fried rice and that's why it is moist. Fried rice in Perú is called Arroz Chaufa, in this case it would be called Chaufa de Mariscos.

    I feel bad for you, guys and I hope you found other chifas in Peru besides that one. It happens that the best are in Lima, outside Lima very few can be called good. About that empty wantan (wonton) it is a practice of low cost chifas and. They don't spend on making any filling for those wontons and is something I call a scam. They sell just the fried paste along with the sweet sauce. A package of 40 pieces costs around 4 soles (1.1 USD) and those scamers sell 6 wontons for 6 or more soles. A total scam, plus the fact they call it a "dish". A dish! No way. Its a shame. But if you try in Lima city (or maybe in some few chifas outside Lima) in a well recommended restaurant you will see the differences, and chifa can be a good culinary experience, of course it will depend on where you go. As you now, chifa is a fusion (Peruvian + Chinese), but you can also find Chinese food in some places in Lima. Next time, if there is a secodn time, try a good place. That restaurant looked cheap and those "dishes" too. Greetings from Peru, Lima.

    • @josefg5212
      @josefg5212 25 дней назад

      Yes my parents are from Ayacucho and I go there every year and the best chifas are in Lima, they can't make the rice so smoked like in Lima, and there are not every soup like in Lima, and many options that you can find in china town Lima.

    In my experience, at least in Lima, the fried wonton comes with a filling, I wonder if regionally in Arequipa they only do the empty friend wonton, or specific to the restaurant. I think it is better with filling.

      Hi, I am from Lima. Wontons must be filled, other way they are not such thing. Those empty ones are a practice of low cost chifas and. They don't spend on making any filling for those wontons, and is something I call a scam. They sell just the fried paste along with the sweet sauce. A package of 40 pieces of that paste costs around 4 soles (1.1 USD) and those scamers sell 6 wontons for 6 or more soles. A total scam, plus the fact they call it a "dish". A dish! No way. Its a shame. Such practice apeared about a decade ago in low cost (cheap) chifas. And, as you said, wontons come with a filling. The real ones. Cheers from Peru

    I spent a year wandering around west AFrica. ATMS were few and far between in 2001. I had to carry a lot of cash. I had a tailor sew secret stash pockets in various items of clothing. I always carried a sacrificial wallet with enough cash in it that if I got mugged I could hand that over and avoid being patted down. Nothing ever happened to me though but I did have a bag stolen out of a hotel room.
