How To Make Adjustable Webbing Strap With Leather Strap Ends I Quick & Easy Tutorial
Просмотров 22 тыс.Год назад
Webbing straps are extremely popular, and I love how they can be used to add pops of color to most bags. One thing I like to do when making straps with webbing is add bits of leather to hide the raw edges. This can be done a few ways, but here I will show you the quick and easy method I use when working with 1 ½” wide webbing and our pre-cut leather strap ends. You can purchase pre-cut leather ...
I love this!
Beautiful pattern and a great tutorial. Your voice is very easy to listen to.
Thank you Joy, great pattern. I am close to finishing mine made with your large panel. I wish I had used thinner leather, closer to what you show in thus video. When done I will post photos in your Facebook group.
Hi, Lynda! Which color leather panel did you use for the wallet? If you ever want to give it another go, I can send a different color your way in a lighter weight. Just give me a yell at any time and I am on it. :) Many thanks - Can't wait to see it!
The vintage green, I think that was the name. Hope to finish today.
Great video…thank you so much!
👍 Promo-SM
Thank you! Can't wait to try it. Great details and information!
I made a mistake on the zipper cutout instead of 3.5 I made 2.5 on the bottom zipper. Is there a workaround?
In that case, as long as you keep everything else the same (especially the “fold to” lines made on the back of the leather), the zipper opening will just sit down a little further, rather than right at the top where the fold of the pocket is. I think you will still love it!
I using a metal zipper but I will cut one end to measure 7” I noticed that you stated closed end zippers.
The closed end zippers have a 7” opening, but extra zipper tape on the ends so they can be sewn into the opening. If using continuous zipper tape, it will need to be cut longer than 7”.
WOW!! I love everything about this wallet. Thank you so much for the pattern & tutorial.
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great looking wallet. I am going to try it. Can I use a firmer temper leather about 1mm thick like a Saffiano? Thank you for the pattern.😊
I haven't tried it in the lightweight Saffiano just yet, but we just got a mustard color in and it is on my sewing list for sure. I really do believe it should be great with a thin/firm leather like Saffiano. However, just to be safe, I recommend holding off on punching the snap hole in the flap until after the wallet is completed because a firmer leather might not fold over quite as far as a soft one. By holding off, you can make sure all goes well with your flap closure in the end. There are notes in the written instructions regarding this adjustment, but if they are not helpful, please feel free to give us a yell.
@@georgiagirlstitches thank you very much.

Awww (blushing)...that is such an awesome compliment. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Many thanks, Anita!
Hi - do you make leather strap samples as a service?
Hi! Currently, we do not, but that is a great idea!
Great video, thank you so much ❤
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
very good information simple and precise. would you be so kind to show a second video showing the other part. the part in the bag where you connect the strap. thank you very much! good work!
Hi! Now that you mention it, we do have a crossbody bag that we are thinking of doing a tutorial on. That video would show one method that is used on a bags with a gusset.
what machine are you using?
I believe this is the TechSew 4800.
Svg files for tabs?
We do not, but I believe someone in our Facebook group has created them. I will check on it. Thanks!
مارقم الصنفره مانوع الجلد الذي تمت صنفرته ومااسم اللون او صبغة الجلد
ارجوك اسم الصبغه ماذا اللي وضعت على طرف الجلد
May I ask what the reason is for the extra squared ring and smaller piece of webbing? I normally do mine all in one piece so I’m just curious. Thanks.
Using two pieces for the strap makes it so you can have an adjustable strap that has a strap end on both ends of the webbing. If you are making a fixed length strap, it is not necessary to use two pieces - or, you can make a one piece adjustable strap, but in that case you would only have the leather strap end on one end of the webbing.
This was great! Just what I'd searched for. Thank you.
So glad I found your channel, excellent tutorial, thank you. Just received my first order of your beautiful webbing & leather, can't wait to use it!
Great video. I love your work.
I love all the details you show. Thanks for the tutorial and the pattern!
We are happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Thanks for being here with us.
Thank you Joy! Love this tutorial.
Excellent tutorial. I've looked at more than a dozen videos and they all have a one piece strap. I like your two piece version. Thank you. BTW, I make leather bags.
love the extra design of having an extra part of strap.
Awesome, thank you! Glad it was helpful.
You are a great teacher keep the videos coming!
Thank you! Will do!
This is truly wonderful - clear, concise, beautiful!
Thank you kindly!
Very nice tutorial!
Perfect thanks a lot❤
❤️👍🏽
Looks great! Well done on your tutorial - you have a new subscriber
Thanks for the sub!
The short strap is 10”, how long do you usually cut your longer piece of webbing? Thanks 😊
Hi, Renate! Here I am responding 11 months later (shame on me)...I cut the longer strip to 50" long, but that can be adjusted - although I am sure you were probably done waiting for this response a long time ago. You know I am terrible with anything that isn't IG. I am trying to do better!😂
😂😂😂
Thank you Joy!! look Forward to more tutorials coming out soon, I love my Cami bag!!
Thanks for sharing this! I love how they look after burnishing! You're really helping me up my game with all your tips! 😊
Love how this turned out, Joy! Can't wait to try this someday!
Thanks, Jessica!
Thank you! Very informative.
Another helpful tutorial…thank you.
Great video! Where did you get your burnishing agent? I haven’t seen an applicator like that before. Can’t wait for more videos!
I added some Tokonole (with a bit of water to thin it out) into an empty marker we purchased on Amazon. We should have these empty markers available on our website in the next couple of weeks.
Love this tutorial Joy! I need to buy more packs from you ❤❤❤
We will be adding some new webbing and leather packs very soon!
Wow!!! Amazing and thank you for the tips!
I love this video. Bring more content please.
Awesome video. The straps are very nice.
The beveled and burnished straps are beautiful. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks, Renate! These are the green straps you just ordered. I love that they burnish so quickly and easily. Please let me know how you how you like them when you receive them!
Yea! I have the tools for beveling and the burnishing cream. Honestly, I just gouge the edges…I need practice obviously. You make everything look so easy.
I needed this today 😂. So glad I found your channel! Keep the videos coming please 😊
Thank you!
Hi! What is the product you used for burnishing? Thx
Hi! The burnishing agent we used was Tokonole. We like to add it to an empty marker (I believe they are called acrylic paint markers), with just a small bit of water to thin it out enough to soak through the marker tip. It has worked like a charm for us!
Thank you so much…I needed this!! What size is your beveling tool? I have leather straps bought specifically for your patterns. Now I get to finish them correctly. ❤❤❤
This was the #3 beveler from our set. David will often use the #2 as well.
@@georgiagirlstitches thank you so much 🙏
@@georgiagirlstitches Will you be bringing these back?
Very useful video. Thanks for sharing.
