Moisture content is very important for any substance. In case of fuel, high moisture content is not desirable as it produce smoke and also increase the ignition point. In this video we will learn how to determine the moisture content. PS: Please use proper PPE before performing the experiment. In your lab, perform the practical in the presence of lab technician or supervisor.

Jar Test is a method used to determine the optimum dose of coagulant for waste water treatment. Colloidal particles, micro-organism, some suspended particles, odor producing substances can be removed by adding coagulant to the waste water. By doing Jar Test, we can determine the types and amount of coagulant used for the treatment. Pilot scale processes can be done by Jar Test.

Sir after doing this experiment did you do any thing to see if this moisture free coal burns ,clearly, and efficiency that the ordinary one
Its a normal observation that coal without moisture burns without smoke. If coal or wood contains high amount of moisture then it will not easily burn and it will produce smoke. Hope it is now clear. 🙂

Hi I have a quick question.what will be time and temperature of oven in case of perishable product
its depend on the type of the product. In general practice we keep the product in the hot air oven until we get constant weight.
