Can they also have them on their tails? I recently just adopted a Persian cat and it had a oily black substance similar to feline acne on it's tail, the previous owners said that it hasn't took a bath ever since. I took it for a bath but only a few of it just came off (he's so hard to groom considering it's his first time having a bath). Is it possible that they can acquire feline acne on their tails as well?

My cat has had it since I adopted her at 2 yrs. She has always had stainless steel bowls and water fountains which I clean often. I wash her chin 3-4 times a week. It is better, but not completely gone. It is really itchy as she scratches it all the time on various objects around the house.... most likely causing more of a problem. I have tried steroid cream/ointments... but she just washes/licks it off. I have been hesitant to try medicated wipes. My vet can't recommend any. She is on low fat kibble, no wet food (won't eat it), and probiotics.

I saw one vet recommended using Witch Hazel to clean the chin. It's less irritating to their skin.
