I used to live in Lake Havasu City, north of where this was recorded. I can’t believe I’m admitting to this, but this video doesn’t surprise me at all. Lake Havasu City may be primarily a retirement area, but the whole area is also pretty much resort focused because of the water. Then one year MTV got the bright idea to host their spring break there. I’m sure you can guess how that went. I may have graduated from high school there, but that doesn’t mean I have to go back!

People should really dig into John Wayne's military history. He was disliked and booed by World War II veterans on his only USO tour because he was regarded as a draft Dodger. He used the family deferment for 2 years and then when that was removed and other fathers went to serve he got a special dispensation as a propaganda actor to avoid service. His wife said later that he was deeply ashamed and it was part of the reason he became such a war hawk later in life. He was a decent actor with a unique presence but not really a very good man in reality.
