Charging your boat battery off grid

I currently live in a HOA and I’m not allowed to store my boat next to my house. I pay to keep my boat at a lot but without power I found the solution to charge my trolling motor battery off grid. I use 100 W solar panel and a charge controller to charge my battery between uses, thanks to the Florida sun It has been a great solution to my battery charging problem.

I have the same exact motor I believe. Yamaha 40? I removed the oil mixer on mine though, less to worry about cuz u premix the fuel.

It’s good, about 5,000 miles. Just saw it because I had an intake vacuum leak and placed better intake gaskets, no uneven wear and they look good, using the right amount of zinc

6900, they didn’t have the other in stock
On the drivers side exhaust manifold you're missing a stud compared to your passenger side. It is the one closest to the Radiator
It broke off, due to pure laziness I’m waiting for the manifold to start leaking
What all did you have to do to put dat cam in im buying one soon just the cam same one
You should use new lifters and it calls for new springs on the heads, I rebuilt the heads. Also look at the summit 6901 camshaft

Melting VS150 springs you can get them anywhere, stock hydraulic flat tappet lifters from summit, they might come with the camshaft

Just a summit 6900 cam, straight pipe exhaust, the rest is stock. I’m using a MSD 6A for the ignition. Engine has been machined but is standard, new rings and new bearings. Small carburetor but that’s a 318 Carter clone. Just the cam. Watch some videos with the 6901 cam

I have a 2005 that I just put a 70hp 4 stroke Yamaha. I love this boat! I have a custom made lean to and have had all fuel lines replaced plus I put a new lowrance elite 7 with side scan on it. Runs at 34mph top end, but the hole shot is a little slow. I sealed the hold on port side with cork and gel coat, but still can’t keep water out. The guy that makes this boat is out of business so hang on to it, it’s the best 16ft there is in my opinion.

MSD on a 2 barrel. Now I've seen everything. Why didn't you just put a stock 4 barrel cam and carb on it even if they came from a good used motor. But I'm your probably going for Gas mileage and a clean burn
Im a bankrupt fireman so couldn’t afford it, but yes, I’m going to upgrade it eventually, the intake manifold was free and the carb was $88

@Jason Webster a shop hammer I've been a tech nearly 30 years I've never used a claw hammer in a shop setting idk it's some strange shop taboo I suppose. I got ten hammers and none are claw

those are the crappiest transducers ever made. Literally will fall apart. Ive had 3 lowrance transducers delaminate and or stop working. everyone upgrades to airmar p66 50/200 khz.

Question for you. Does your Key Largo have a thru hull drain in the stern portside storage box? Mine does and really don't understand what it's for.
Yes it does, I also don’t know why other than draining water out of it. I just keep the plug in it all the time.

It’s been a great boat and the plug is holding fine. No problems, use lots of 5200

You should put the 5200 on the screws to seal water penetration around the screw threats. Which will happen.
I did that but didn’t video it, I hope it lasts. Trying to get more videos out there, hopefully better and shorter for ADD people like me

Cool, need to do a v8 swap !. I have an 88 w/ 318 4x4 4speed. I bought hooker headers and a 40 series we'll see how she sounds when it arrives.
