Ah yes, the exact screen I use & love.Never have regretted swapping my 2-mo-old 7300 for a Pro3.

How a transciever A/B comparison becomes more usefull? 1. Use the same Antenna. 1. Use external, equal loudspeaker, on each transciever. 2. Use a Antenna switch. 3. Switch each 5 second, between A and B transciever. 4. Switch during a station is talking. 5. Use the same settings on each transciever (BW, GAIN, FILTER...) 6. Don't talk yourself during the test. 7. Cut out, to search stations on the video. 8. Write the mode for this video in the content; SSB; CW.... Maybe you find some more useful settings? Best Regards Mark

Nice rig

I find the receiver on the 857d is pretty good but filtering is not that great but it is very nice to operate in the car. Yaesu makes great mobiles.

hm no, i think i wont buy a 7410, because the noise reduction makes the voice sound muffled. thanks for the video.

Love mine, so easy to use. I ripped out the open frame relay and put in the micro relay kit from AD5X, made it much quicker and quieter on RX/TX

if you would use equal external loudspeaker and the same RX bandwith, there will be only a minimal difference. 73 Mark de DL9RDM

Press the button just above and to the left of the VFO knob marked main/sub and hold in for one second, this shrinks and pushes up the display leaving a blank gap below. Now go to your SWR,ALC,Comp button second one down to the left of the actual display screen and hold that in to fill the blank gap with the SWR/ALC/POWER etc. display screen that would normally take up the bottom half of the display normally replacing the spectrum display... that should do it! After i did what you described above , nothing happened , everything stayed as before

Icom makes some NICE transceivers for sure. They're my preferred manufacturer in terms of amateur radio gear. I own an Icom R8500 and an R75 and they're the best at what they do. Amateur radio is one hell of a fun hobby and it's advanced so much over the decades :)

Love these rigs. I'm Always amazed looking at them .

The Pro3 sounds veiled on CW, with clearly heard DSP artifacts. So fatiguing on CW, but incredible on SSB.
